Couldn't find to rent so decided to buy this dvd

We tried to rent this movie from Redbox after hearing it was good but it wasn't available within 500 miles of L.A. Buying it from Ebay was so affordable and dvd arrived within a few days. Funny movie w/some quirky characters. We've all known people whose life experience has traumatized them or mental illness/disorders have affected them deeply spilling over to their friends, family & associates, This film shows a few of those scenarios.Read full review...

Sometimes disappointing events lead to new beginning in life.

The movie has powerful performances by both main characters that resulted in an Academy Award going to Jennifer Lawrence. Although strong family and love relationships are involved, I would not classify this as a romantic comedy. These are complex characters presenting real life and emotional struggles. Going long.

Read this book long ago and loved it enough that I decided to buy it to keep. I have more than a general knowledge of real places story. However, Like virtually every good book, ever, there have to be new discoveries this time around. I'm looking forward to them.

This is one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen in my life.

I seldom write reviews and the rare times I do it's always a 5-star review. Nothing less will I write about or 'review'.

I borrowed a Netflix copy from my daughter to watch it at home and as soon as the movie had progressed to the point where Bradley's character meets Jennifer's character and I felt that mysterious "chemistry" between them, I knew I'd buy my own DVD of it. It's a keeper for sure!

I had no previous experiences of seeing either of these two actors in any movie, and had little or no knowledge of who they were. But there was this immediate "chemistry" there in a palpable form that moved my heart deeply as I followed these two eccentric lives unfold before me.

The passion, depth, wisdom, and incredible heart that Jennifer Lawrence gives to her character in this movie made me cry and fall in Love with her. With her heart's profound passion for life once she felt the earth move when the two meet in the movie.
This is called "suspension of disbelief" and is convincing the audience for even a brief few minutes of time, that what they are experiencing is absolutely real. Emotions are bared and we are moved from the experience of it.

The entire cast easily 'grows' on the viewer as actually being who they are in real life. The cast is terrific, but Jennifer Lawrence just simply "nails it" plain and simple. The Oscar was so well deserved. (and I cried again)

Probably my favorite movie.

I just love this movie so much. Clearly the writers on the team had someone with true experience of mental disorders. Its funny, it’s sappy, but not a complete chick flick. Hit It On the Head !

This is the first movie I know of that tackles the Bi polar mental health issue with honesty, realism and humor (which does NOT take away from the other two).
