Fun Game Play, Kid Friendly, Challenging and entertaining!

I bought this product because my sons and I have had so much fun with Skylanders Giants that we decided to try the older game.

We had a blast! The story and game play was easy enough for my 4 year old to play by himself, but fun and challenging enough to keep my interest.

The graphics were OK, better then Giants on a Nintendo Wii, but nothing compared to Giants on my XBOX360. The character animation and spell effects were great. The cut scenes were ok. The one thing I didn't like was the lack of ability to skip dialogue, which you could do with Giants, especially since my sons like to replay levels.

We have only gotten a few levels done but so far I can see why it warranted a sequel and Activision and Toys For Bob still impress even with an older game!Read full review...

Great game for all ages!

Spyro's name is nothing new, but the hype surrounding the purple dragon has always turned me off towards it. Recently I demoed one of the new Skylanders games. After that, I was hooked, so I went back to begin at the start of the Skylanders saga. This is a great multi-platform game that lets you create and grow your own Skylanders characters and then take them to a friend's house (your friend can even have a different console) and play with them. The world is deep, the characters aren't just fillers - every NPC has a purpose - and there is always something new to explore. The only downside to this game is the price. The starter pack retails upwards of $60 and each individual Skylander you buy after that costs another $9-$12, or $18-$22ish for a three pack. In addition to each figure there are multiple acessories that you can purchase at your discretion. It's a great game. Very fun. It's fun since the more you play with a character the stronger it gets. It kind of reminds me of pokemon. Get it while you can!

This is the perfect addition to our Skylander collection. My daughter and I have been collecting since the second game "Giants" came out. We are now going back to fill in all the older ones we had missed. Ebay was the perfect way to pick up this older game. ESPECIALLY because the new portals are backward compatible. All you really need is the Game Disc and any of the portals from the newer Skylander games. We LOVE SPYRO! (Spyro was only included with the first game starter kit...he is difficult to find as a stand alone character in a single package anymore.) Bought this for my 8 year old son for Christmas. It is very interactive which he likes alot. I also like the fact that you can change the game by changing the figure on the portal so instead of buying new expensive games you buy new guys to make a new game.
