The great Billy Wilder at his best!
With a cast of Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe, and Joe E. Brown, the great Billy Wilder makes the best of his comedy farces. This picture is so goofy it is a true work of art. I recommend this film to all movie buffs, but then again, how many movie buffs haven't already seen it? Bravissimo to the greatness of all this talent in one wonderfully crazy motion picture. Five stars, thumbs up, and every other way of saying "genius."Read full review...

Thanks, gentlemen. You did your best to express the feminine mystique in rough timesd.
No wonder this is a classic favorite. Lemmon and Curtis opened a door for many other famous actors to dress as women and effectively lure the movie goer (Hoffman, Williams, Gibson).

Masterpiece of Celluloid
Great, old movie re-energized by digital restoration. Nice to see old-style humor without the violence and over abundance of sex needed to 'sell' the new movies of today. You can clearly see reason for the 'attraction' to Marilyn back then. The film was quite 'naughty' for the time.Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are great, as well, as George Raft. Never picked up on the reference to the Valentine's Day Massacre as a teen, when I saw it for the first time but, it's clearly there. Great old cars, clothes, yacht's, architecture and train. A masterpiece of celluloid for it's day.Read full review...

There could only be one movie to watch today upon hearing of the death of Tony Curtis. His most famous movie, heck, one of THE most famous movies of all time. "Some Like it Hot" and spookily, I had never seen it until today.
It was FANTASTIC, every part the all time classic people claimed it was. Wonderful performances from Tony Curtis doing his best Cary Grant impression as a millionaire playboy/sax player, Marylin Monroe as the bubbleheaded blonde looking for true love and in particular Jack Lemmon who seems to take to his role of "Daphne" a little too well.
Simply put, this movie really is one of the best ever.Read full review...
Timeless Comic Relief
I can't think of anything bad to say about this movie!! Great screenplay! Great directing (Billy Wilder). Incredible actors (Lemmon, Curtis, Monroe, and many more). This movie will have you laughing for the entire 122 minutes! It's no wonder it won several Academy Awards for the year 1959. It closely parallels the story of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. I never realized it until I saw both movies back to back on a classic movies channel. Tony Curtis pays a respectable homage to one of his idols, Cary Grant, in a very funny scene on the beach with none other than Marilyn Monroe!! Watching this romp is a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours when you just need to get away from it all!!Read full review...

Classic comedy (with some strongly implied violence)!
With a cast which includes Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe as the primary characters in a movie directed by Billy Wilder you cannot go too far wrong!
