You Had To Be There?

For what it's worth, I was in attendance at this particular Son Volt show at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.

31 Songs, They started a little before 10p and rocked hard until around 1:30a! We left 100% drained with nothing left to do but rehash the show all the way back home (and then we jammed at home for another hour or so!).

Jay & boys were very into this show showing a spirit not evident at all SV shows. We saw them a little later on the same tour (about two months later) and the show was not quite as rockin', but still above average for these days' bands.

This DVD is awesome quality (sound & visuals), but the packaging is a little weak for such a landmark release.Read full review...

Son Volt - Live ^-String Belief

Pretty tight band but too true to the studio recordings; I'd love to see these guys extend a song every now and then. They don't have to play a 20 minute version of Windfall but take some chances. All in all a good performance but I'm only going to watch this maybe once a year.....Read full review...
