The best value for your money. If it broke today, I would purchase another!

I bought this product because it has the latest software and 3D ability, and Sony hase a great reputation for quality products. Everything works great on this system: It was really easy to setup, the interenet programs like Netflix are there and work well with out pause. It is slow on starting, but it does say that you can make it faster to start but it will use more electricity. I also have an older 5 dvd disk player by sony. Slim design with large app selections

Product was better than expected. Very slim design and very simple to setup. Purchased this for my RV to have more choices of channels when camping but it performs better than my home unit. Netflix is my main selection from the many apps it has and connection to WiFi was twice faster than the one I use every day.
Remanufactured products seem to shy some from buying, but at least I know that these were actually looked at and tested by a human before getting sent out unlike the conveyor new one where only 1 out of 20 or so are tested.
Good packaging with hdmi cable included, plug one end into player and one into tv, plug power cable to socket, that’s it, your done. Very good quality and very good features, will be buying another for my bedroom.Read full review...

Better than some newer models

I found the features inherent in the BX59 work smoother than the same in newer models. This shows a fundamentally stronger foundation to work from.

A feature packed refurbished bargain.

I admit I was a little leery about this purchase...$60-refurbished-with all those features! But hey, right out of the box this player works great! I did freak out a little when I first powered it up though, the display is not very bright...and I missed the "hello" signifying it at powered up. But after that scare, next was the internet hook up. My plan was to wifi a connection, but since my intended location was right next to my router, I wired it instead. Hook up was immediate and easy. Although I can't comment on the wifi speeds, the wired speed is excellent! Compared to my Direct TV internet wifi adapter setup in the bedroom, watching YouTube is like going from dial up to a high speed connection. Very pleased with features and quality.

This Sony DVD player was very affordable and easy to hook up. I was able to eliminate the bridge adapter and all the blue lights that go with it. Remote is easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. I have not used the 3D function yet but wanted to have the option for my 3D TV. great DVD player

had a storm come thru last night which was part of hurricane Mathew. We could not get reception from our dish so we watched Netflix and DVD's until about midnight. It was some what over whelming at first to set up but after I settled down it was not really that hard. I was not use to such a outstanding DVD player. We even surfed the internet for a while just to be amazed.

Very nice & easy to use device. Built in Wi-fi allows you to stream media from various devices including PCs, and even smartphones!
Quality is excellent and the device has so many built apps not to mention a built in web browser...A wireless keyboard and mouse can be easily added to this device...There is an additional USB port on the rear of the device.
The convenience of being able to play media from a USB flash drive through a port right on the front of the player is a plus!

Great player for the price

Great player. Wifi connectivity is not the best but wired works good. Mine was losing connection all the time so I decided to hook it to the router directly with an ethernet cable.
3D works great.<br>Lots of internet applications. Some of them pretty useless but some others very convenient.
Firmware upgrades online right away.
Remote control is very simple and even has a Netflix button in it. However I still prefer internet from my Smart TV.Read full review...

I love the Sony BDP-BX59 blu ray player, we have 4 of them in my house.

Sony blu ray players offer the best YouTube App in the market; you're able to search videos and save up to 10 searches so you don't have to type them whenever you want to find videos about your favorite topic; you can also sort the list of videos by four different criteria Related, Published, Rating and View Count just like in your web browser; it gives you the option to see all the videos in the list sequentially, repeat the last seen video or just do nothing after watching it; there's even an option to display the video description... I didn't find these features on the LG, Panasonic, and Toshiba blu ray players, and I doubt non namebrand blu ray player will offer something to match the Sony Youtube App... Also, the web browser App offers a wide variety of options that other brands don't offer.Read full review...

First Blu-Ray player. Current DVD player is a Sony and outdated, but will still be of use for a long time. My new Blu-Ray player is very easy to use,..even for someone who is not technologically savvy. The slim and sleek design is very attractive and a space saver.
