Can't live without a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P10

My latest purchase of the Sony P10 is my third of this model and I'm tempted to just buy more. It started when I used a friend's similiar Cybershot model years ago, then I bought that model only to have it stolen and replaced it with my first P10, then I bought my granddaughter one, then I thought mine broke so I bought my latest. With luck on my side I got the older model working again with the help of the manual from the latest purchase, so now I have two. I don't ever want to be without this camera.

This model camera might be a little older than all the new Cyber-shots and the battery may not charge off a USB cable and the LED display might be smaller than new models, but the camera is simple to operate, gives great quality in its video and its still shots and is easy to use without reading the manual. I can not image what all it can do if you read the manual. And it seems to be a lot like a Timex as "it takes a licking and keeps on ticking" and there can be no better proof than to say my granddaugther has ruined 4 or 5 cellphones in the same time as the she has had the P10 I gave her and its still going strong.

Great Camera

We bought this camera used for our 4 year old son who was always wanting to use our camera to take pics. It is easy to use, takes great pics, and we were able to find more memory duo sticks at an online computer company for $4 each. It is smaller than our digital cam, so when we want a small compact camera to grab, we are now borrowing our son's camera.Read full review...

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P10 Digital Camera

We had the same model Cyber-Shot and really liked its features, size and performance, then after years of service it stopped working. It was being used to record not only all of our family photosbut also all of our Boy Scout Troop activities including years of Summer Camps and even the National Jamboree this past summer. Plus my son used it for posting photos and even movie clips of his R/C project cars on on-line forums. Thinking that a replacement could be found on ebay I shopped and bid on several until I won one. When it arrived I was pleased that it worked and recorded perfect images. Unfortunately due to previous damage from apparently being dropped the shutter that protects the lens was sticky and wouldn't reliably open and close. Knowing that it was the electronics that failed in the original camera and feeling there was nothing to lose I dissasembled the original camera (its not recommended to try this at home). After taking it apart I realized I could carefully remove the optical portion of the "new" camera and assemble it into the "old" camera. Viola! Once again we have a fully functioning Cyber-Shot again.Read full review...

Great oldie but goodie cam one of sony's best.

These cameras are oldies but goodies. It is a good size, not too small or thin which I fumble those alot, and not too big. it can easily be carried in pants or shirt pocket. 5mp size photo is more than sufficient for on the spot photos that are not going to be blown up bigger than 5x7. I also have a sony expensive waterproof housing specifically for this camera. I bought a second camera of this model so if the first one ever quits I would have another one. You will not be disappointed in this tough little guy.Read full review...

Sony DSC-P10 5.0 Megapixel

The small size is important because I have to carry it out in the field (horseback-canoe-etc.) It has all the features I need and is easy to use. I am hesitant to buy another one after reviewing the Sony line and finding that many have a shutter problem. Many listings on used camera's have a statement that the item is refurbished (cleaned or repaired?) These camera may be to sensitive to be handled as I need to do.Read full review...

Oldie but Goodie

These DSC-P10 cameras were $500 back in the day.

They are proof that newer is not always better. In many situations this camera
will take better balanced photos than my new Canon Elph 1100. The color accuracy
is impressive with the Sony.

Also more megapixels does not mean better photos. In fact it is the sensor size
that allows for the image quality. The bigger the sensor and type of sensor the
better the photo especially in low light conditions. I was just looking for a
memory stick and found this auction. I am very happy I won it.

Works great! Nice surprise.

I bought it for parts but everything worked including the memory sticks so I'm using it as a spare camera. It was a great buy, I don't know why the former owner thought it was only good for parts.

Love this camera! It is easy to use and easy to charge

I have a Sony Cyber-shot 7.2 and I needed one for a friend that asked me to buy him a digital camera and show him how to use it. So I knew how easy mine was to use so I was hoping this one would be the same. It is very easy to use. I love it. So easy to use the memory sticks too.Read full review...

Good picture, viewfinder, pocket size.

Camera has many features. Small enough to carry in your pocket. I like the viewfinder which is great in dark situations where you can't see on the screen.

Camera does not work but case is good.

I am sorry the camera does not work at all but I do like the case and will use that for my existing camera. I am happy.
