Sony Ericsson phones are great!

The phone is great and so is the camera. An 8.1 megapixel camera with a phone is very uncommon. I bought a Sony 2GB M2 memory card, which is more than enough. I can store thousands of pictures and hundreds of songs. The other great thing is that I can just bluetooth all my pictures and music to my computer, which is great because I dont have to use a single wire! I even bought the Motorola S9-HD headphones which allows me listen to my music wirelessly. These are great accessories I bought in addition, which allow me to make use of all the uses of my phone.

The only flaw on my c905 is that it doesn't charge when its off. This means that if the battery dies, I am unable to turn the phone back on. It just happened recently, so I had to charge the battery in one of my old Sony Ericsson phones and then had to stick it back in my c905. Its an odd concept and I probably have a defective phone, but as long as I make sure to charge it when its on it works perfectly fine.

Overall: Great phone with great additional features (wifi, GPS, camera)
I really do like Sony Ericsson phones. The quality, the features, and the name behind the phone!

Does it all well!

I love this phone - call quality is fantastic on both ends, and reception is excellent. Mine is an unlocked phone I'm using with my ATT SIM. It takes really great pictures, so crisp and color reproduction is exact. However, do not use this to take self portraits, as the color comes out weird; I guess because your hand is in front of the camera, blocking some of the flash? Anyway, I never leave my cell at home, but I always forget my camera and I have young kids, so now I can take good pictures whenever because it takes the best pictures out of any camera phone - has real xenon flash and auto focus. Even the video from this phone is better than decent, and it has the software to upload it in seconds to You Tube, Facebook, etc. The only things I can find fault with are its chubby dimensions and that it takes several seconds to save the file when you snap a picture, delaying the next picture. However, these are such minor beefs when you consider all you're getting at such a reasonable price - it so many 'smart' phone features; even has wifi despite the fact it's a 'dumb' phone, so you can get free internet on your phone wherever there's wifi AND you don't have to pay extra every month on your phone bill like you're forced to do with a 'smart' phone. I did a LOT of research before settling on this phone, and I'm glad I did as it fits my needs perfectly.Read full review...

It's not just a great camera, it makes phone calls too!!

This is the second c905 I have owned and can say this is without a doubt the BEST non-smart phone anywhere. The file system is fantastic, I have more flexibility in saving, transfering, and transporting files without the need for special apps like I do with my iPhone.

The picture quality is the best of any other phone on the market, especially since it has a REAL FLASH BUILT IN! Not some silly bright LED which (don't let anyone else convince you otherwise) does not match the brightness of a true Xenon Flash.

There is no other phone I have used that gives you more control over creating multi-media messages, handling forwarded calls, easy tethering to iPod Touch or computers through bluetooth to access the internet.

That's right... I have more flexibility with what I can do with my iPod touch than my iPhone and I can be on the internet anywhere I go because I am tethered to my c905's internet connection. The iPod touch's battery life is much longer than the iPhone’s and it's sooo much thinner. I can make VoIP calls on my iPod Touch while it's tethered to this phone. I regret purchasing my iPhone.

I can go on and on gushing about how awesome this phone is and the world of possibilities it opens up for you.

******One IMPORTANT NOTE******
Please don't confuse the c905 with the c905a. The c905a comes with AT&T's software built in which greatly limits this phone's functionality, including the ability for a computer to tether to gain internet access and it shuts off the phone's wifi capabilities to name a few. If you happen to purchase the c905a by mistake, you should reflash the software to debrand it and remove AT&T's software.

Purchase this phone. It's sturdy, it's functional, you won't regret it.

C905 is an excellent upgrade from a previous SE low-end

If you are a regular user of SE phones and you are not ready to make the move to a full-blown smartphone, the C905 is an excellent upgrade from the K-series phones (that I have been using). I love the camera, the Wi-fi and the fact that moving from K800 to C905 is seamless. All the functionality, UI and more can be found in the C905.

You can easily sync with isync on a Mac (after downloading a plugin from SE), which makes managing contacts and my schedule very easy.

Overall, this is an excellent phone, packed with lots of useful features (8.1 MP camera, Wi-fi, GPS, flashlight, etc), reasonable battery life, good synching capabilities in both Mac and Windows and a reasonable price.

The downside is that the applications market for C905 seems rather limited.

Review after using the C905 for 3 months.

The Pros
- Sliding form to allow for larger screen
- Fantastic camera
- Great video recording
- MP3 player
- FM radio
- Email
- Watch full movies
- Nice Web browser

The Cons
- No QWERTY keypad
- Short battery life
- Only takes Sony M2 memory cards

I've owned the W810i and K850i before and the C905a blows them all away. The feel of the phone is nice and the camera is VERY simple to use. The real digital camera has so many options it's unbelievable. It's not hard to get used to it, but takes some time to play around with.

Also it has great video too. It can shoot video up to 2 hours in high-quality. You can also post them on YouTube straight from the phone. Definitely suited for those who have kids or and active lifestyle.

I also use the email, MP3 player and FM radio a lot.

Awesome Camera Phone! Unlocked!

I got a good price on this phone here on eBay. What I love about this phone is that it is unlocked. So I tested it in Thailand, Hongkong, Singapore, China and Dubai and it works perfectly. So far so good. Battery life is excellent, easy to use and has access to different country's SIM cards. Well worth the buy. Also this phone has a 8 megapixel camera and does a good job of taking pictures. I recommend this product for those people who love to travel and still be connected.Read full review...

Smartest NON-Smartphone Out There

After AT&T started imposing the $30 data plan for ALL smartphones. The challenge at hand was to find a non smartphone that would keep me satisfied through its features and cool factor. Well let me tell you, this phone did it! Not only am I saving $30/month from a data plan. But this phone has the awesome camera that takes very good pictures and videos. And the user interface isn't bad either. I love the IM style interface for texting. Similar to what most Blackberry's have. The design feels solid, the slider mechanism feels sturdy and great. Like the cool factor in sliding the shutter screen to activate/deactivate camera mode. I've had this phone for about 4 months now, and I've had no problems with it. Just make sure you restart it ever so often just to give it a fresh slate to work off of. And default all your texts to your M2 memory card so it won't slow down the phone.Read full review...

Bottom line, I think it's the best cell phone that now :)

According to my personal opinion is one of the best cell phone out of the market.
I am one who does not like Fluffy TOUCH; cell phone finally went right for me.
Cell phone has a sliding slide easily and not has to use force.
There is also a pretty hard cover and an excellent camera is not decreased so easily in the end, the camera also is the thing.
8MP camera of an amazing quality, have XENON flash (like regular cameras) and this amazing thing, even in the dark as darkness, you can take pictures and they were good quality, clear and beautiful.
In terms of music, have the player of Sony Ericsson, a great player.
I was pleasantly surprised and speaker is quite strong compared with most cell phone camera invested. (Speakers and deep, he does not make only high frequencies but also low which makes as if to "ace")
The menu is as usual in terms of Sony Ericsson, a menu that I really, really connect to him and I am comfortable with, and the menu does not get stuck (there are new devices from Sony Ericsson has stuck device, here there's all part)
Compared to other phones is not made of plastic and some metal, is made of materials very pleasant at the soft, not easily damaged, creating a touch of luxury.

Thanks,
Shahar Balilti

Cell phone to have when great pictures are a must!

I like the easy menu; but I love everything about the the camera part of this cell phone; easy access for taking photos and videos, easy access for viewing the photos or videos you just took, easy access to DJ-fix the pictures or videos, and the quality of the pictures...
...they are great pictures!
What I don't like is that video clips have to be so short, (about 24sec. long) to be able to send them to fb or other web sites, or even as a message, if it didn't have a limit on this feature, than this cell phone would for sure have an 'Excellent'-Rating!
Over all, however, when I decided to buy this Sony c905 cyber-shot cell phone, I made the best decision I could make for my needs...
...and I am so glad I did! I love this Sony cyber shot cell phone!
Thanks Sony, this one is a keeper until the next cyber shot has no limit on the video feature of sending it as message or to web sites!

The C905

The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot has managed to create a real stir in the mobile community. It's the first GSM handset that ships with the whopping 8 megapixels worth of camera goodies and such things simply cannot go unnoticed.

You've probably already gone through the news scoop and you know the sweet details - face detection, smart contrast, both a xenon flash and a photo flash, as well as geotagging complete the camera feature set. A 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with scratch-resistant mineral glass cover will serve you as a viewfinder.
