Sony soundbar used with a 49inch LG TV

The setup was easy enough. One cable (HDMI) all that was needed. Using the bar with a 49 inch LG TV and it fills the space beneath the TV and has a repeater for remote signals intended for the TV. I use a directTV remote for all the TV and DVR activity and the soundbar handles it well. The sound control is exclusively with the sound bar via it's remote. So, using two remotes to control everything. And, I do have to turn the TV off with it's remote after shutting down for the evening. There are several features available on the soundbar remote for setting quality of sound produced. Takes a little time to become familiar with settings and options. I keep the book handy. We are 'senior' citizens and the soundbar does improve our ability to hear speech and dialog especially with all the 'old' TV programs that we prefer to watch. Our room size is approximately 18x20 feet. A good product, that definitely improves the listening experience, at a reasonable cost.Read full review...

Amazing Price for Incredible Sound!

Despite some online criticism I have seen about this product, I am extremely impressed overall.
The sound quality is top notch for such a low price, and it reaches an incredible volume. The outer shell is completely plastic, but the design still looks nice and feels high quality.
Bass isn't amazing but is way better than any built in TV speakers or smartphone speaker, plus it has a remote.
While the bluetooth functions seamlessly, my biggest disappointment is the lack of a 3.5mm aux jack. The IO is mediocre at best with only one HDMI a optical audio port +cable, and a USB-A port.

Overall I would rate it a 89/100
I highly recommend it!

Great Value

It can go roughly as low as ~80 Hz, so no, it is not a sound bar that delivers stunning audio effects when watching movies. Sounds are pretty obviously not surrounded as well. However, for the price I paid, this upgrade from TCL TV's built-in speakers totally worth every penny. Dialogues get the most pronounced improvement, which I think is the most important aspect of a TV speaker. Not being able to get to lower frequencies is kind of a pro to me, who lives in an apartment and doesn't want to bother neighbors. Read full review...

Great sound bar

There were a couple bad reviews on here so it made me a bit skeptical. I decided to go for it and couldn’t be happier. The sound bar as a whole is very well built, very nice features. It has touch buttons instead of the ones you push in which makes the bar look very sleek. The set up was very very simple all i had to do is plug the hdmi into the my Samsung tv in the hdmi arc and that was it. Once pluged in the sound was incredible. I didnt think the bass was going to be as loud as it was. The tweeters that are built in make for very clear spoken word. Keep in mind the sub is built in so your not going to get the biggest bass out of it but for a small home like mine it was just right! Would recommend! Read full review...

Great vlue unless you are seeking heavy bass.

Audi quality is good unless you are seeking heavy bass. If so, then find a sound bar with a separate sub-woofer. Wife hates base and I just wanted to hear voices and mostly acoustic music clearly. Very easy to hook up. I first linked by optical cable to a new LG 7300 series TV. Clear but the sound lagged the video a bit. Then I connected a HDMI cable to the cable/DVR HDMI port and eliminated the lag. Also, the cable remote automatically synced with the sound bar, so no need to use the separate Sony soundbar remote to change volume or turn on/off. Keep the soundbar remote if you want to change audio modes. We mostly use the "voice" mode to dialogue clarity. Read full review...

Okay, but...

Decent to good sound for a single Sony sound bar. However, if you have the space, I would spend the $20-30 extra and get the additional wireless bass tube. That is: get the combo. You’ll be happier with your overall purchase. Read full review...

Great Value

Great product, sound is full and robust. Connectivity options are easy enough and really effective.

Its not surround sound, but its world better than my crummy tv speakers.

The price is the best part. Even low level competition is more expensive by a factor of 3. No reason to not grab this product if you are on the fence.Read full review...

Better than the TV speakers.

Great deal for the money. Not world class sound but hey it was $30. Only gripe is the power and input ports are all jammed into a couple of indented coves on the back making it a pain to connect.

Works great, great value

Works better than my 3 piece set + subwoofer, likely due to the higher speaker wattage. Great value.
