Gene Simmons suggested the name of this solo album to Ace Frehley during a promotion event for his Vault catalog of songs. It’s perfect.

Ace Frehley is the original lead guitar player for the rock band KISS. Ace is the member that created the original logo after Paul Stanley suggested the name of the band. This orange-vinyl special issue is a limited-issue product—as well as the cover variant from other pressings of the same record. There are silver and purple vinyl colors with different album cover artwork, but this one is by far my favorite. This cover artwork is an homage to Elvis Presley’s “50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can’t Be Wrong” album cover. Also, Ace Frehley sold the rights to his makeup design and space-alien character to Gene Simmons and Paul stanley back in 2002 when he left the band for the second time. So the Ace Frehley Halloween mask inside the space helmet is a nice tongue-in-cheek dig to his former bandmates. He could have probably been sued for using it. Gene Simmons does however guest as co-writer and studio player on two songs on this solo album. I bought this special record just as a wonderful souviner of this place and time in rock history and pop culture. I have no intention of ever opening it and playing the record. I love the cover artwork and hype sticker; orange being my favorite color. Read full review...
