Great, entertaining, mythology game....

I am a huge mythology buff, so when I heard about this game, I went out immediately and bought it.

If you're looking for a game that takes overall skill, this isn't it. You can describe this game as a button masher. There is some level of skill when it comes to the bosses, but overall if you can push x and square over and over again, you'll have no problem playing this game.

The story is interesting, the upgrades to hero and legend make the game more intense, and I personally felt the graphics were pretty good given the amount of enemies that can be on the screen at one time.

There are certain points in the game in which I found a drag in which the ps2 cannot keep up with the action, but it only happend twice.

Pros: Overall fun to play, the story is entertaining, the graphics are pretty good, and the use of "god powers" make you feel invincible.

Cons: A tad too easy when put on the easy level, the next level of difficulty seems impossible. No skill, doesn't take a lot of thinking to play, which could have been fun in some parts.

Overall I would recommend this game. The mature rating is solely for the blood and violence, which maybe I am immune to, but I didn't find there was that much blood.

If you're looking for a fun game, that will make you want to keep playing for hours, this is it.

Hell of a fun game with great graphics, and loads of action !

First, let me say that this is one of my favorite games EVER. I liked the main character a lot, and enjoyed the limited time I had fighting alongside my buddies, Castor and Pollux. There are other cool allies to fight with also, and I wish I could have seen more of them. I haven't finished the game yet, but wanted to say that it is already more than worth what I spent on it. The monsters and enemies you get to fight are interesting and often presented in unusual ways. I liked the weapons a lot, but would have liked to also be able to choose my armor or other gear. Sometimes the hordes of enemies onscreen at once get a little ridiculous, and make it really hard to focus or see anything; especially your poor beleaguered allies. I would have liked to be able to explore the environments a little more before being forced to go to the next scene. I hate it when a gate closes behind you, and you can't go back after killing the local enemies. There also seem to be some points where if you stand in a certain spot, the enemies just come out indefinitely, which kind of mars any sense of realism. I mean, how many Romans or proto-Vikings can one tower hold ? Really ? Reminds me of GTA San Andreas with the damn helicopters. I've shot down more choppers than even exist in the whole State of California in 15 minutes. Really ? So it can be with the damn Romans. Endless. Just run away from those spots and do something else. You don't get any benefit, as far as I can tell, from killing more hordes of enemies.
Another thing I'd really like to see is some kind of unlockable where you could play Castor or Pollux or one of the other NPC's, with a different assortment of weapons and armor...( Listen UP, you game designers out there ! )
All THAT said, I am really enjoying the game, and recommend it highly, as I'm getting many hours of enjoyable play out of it already. Two thumbs up. Sore thumbs, that is...

Spartan Total Warrior PS2

For a Playstation 2 game, this one is amazing. The graphics are stellar, the storyline is flawless and the gameplay leaves little to be desired. If this were translated to the PS3 generation it would undoubtedly be one of the mega-hits, to rival God of War and Inferno. The only downside is that when viewed next to games such as those previously mentioned, one definitely notices the differences between the genres (the fault there is simply that it is on a dated system, however, and not one inherent to the game, itself). Downside - the creators didn't see fit to modernize it and continue it into one of the newer generation systems. Other than that it's a great game in its entirety.Read full review...

Spartan Total Warrior is good

Spartan Total Warrior is a good game. Vast levels and hordes of enemies, with several different type of enemies, and pretty good boss fights. Although Spartan isn't my most favorite game, it sertainly deserves a chance to at least be played once, or if you're like me a week straight. Also this game isn't for everyone, keep in mind the rating of the game, which is put there so responsible parents will protect their child(ren) from what they shouldn't be introduced to yet. I decided to buy this game because I thought it looked interesting and fun, and that is exactly what it was.Read full review...

Spartan Total Warrior

This game came out below my expectations. The only thing that is good about the game is the fighting, which is the core of the game. The controls are rigth on so it is very fun to fight with the different weapons provided. However, the game would have been soooooo much better if other parts of it were further developed such as the story and characters. The story is so predictable but the characters are the worst thing in the game, especially the character voices which make me just want to turn of my console. So all in all, this game is worth playing, but only once because there is not enough depth to play the game over and over again. I would value this game at no more than $15. I wish I had read this review because I bought mine at $25. Have fun!Read full review...

Action Packed!

This game keeps you on your toes with new mission objectives all the time. I get tuckered out quickly having to move my fingers so quickly to keep up with the pace of the game, even on easy level. However, I wish there was more of a tutorial instead of mentioning commands by stopping the scene to show what they are. I found it hard to practice the movements I wanted to make through the mission but I got the hang of it because if the Spartan dies you have to start back at the beginning of that checkpoint. I bought this game because after renting it, I wanted to keep going on in the missions.Read full review...
