Speed Racer

My son usually doesn't sit for long without getting distracted. When I took him to see this movie he never moved. I had to check his pulse to make sure he was still in the land of the living. He watched every bit of this movie. Half the time with his mouth wide open that most of the popcorn ended up down his shirt. He had to go back and watch it again. I had to make a check off calendar to mark off the days when it would come out on dvd. It was a good thing Wal-mart is a 24 hours store cause my son would have crashed right though the entrance to buy this.

He must have Speed Racer everything now. Theaters need to start having warnings on there movies that say: "caution, may cost parents a fortune when movies come out". Since they have to make blankets, toys, figurines, dishes, clothes and everything else with the characters on them.

My son has never taken to a movie quite like this one. He is almost 10 and he it still speed racer strong. When he switches to something else I will let you all know where the biggest Speed Racer yard sale is!Read full review...

Cartoon Fun!

This is one of the better adaptations from a TV show. I mean we have Bewitched that was totally unfaithful to the original story. Here Speed Racer has fast paced story with many colorful explosions which made me reminiscence the great days of Speed Racer the show on Saturdays! I like the cast, especially the supporting cast like John Goodman and Susan Saradon. Emile Hirsch portrays as Speed really well. Trixie (Christina Ricci) was also done really well too. However, Racer X may have been miscast; Matthew Fox may have over did his character. Overall, I love the movie and it is one of the more faithful adaptations.Read full review...

LOVE this movie!!!

We all love this movie! A couple of months ago, my family were staying at a hotel and this was this only movie on that kept my kids entertained. I was part reading and part watching and was surprised that I actually thought it was pretty good. But based on the reviews, I convinced myself I wouldn't like it and ignored it. My kids liked it so much, my husband asked me to buy the dvd. Overall, we've watched it 3 times and the movie gets better each time.

I don't understand why it had poor reviews as this movie is visually stunning, funny, and the story line is wonderful. We even like the music. My daughter (6) and son (5) laughs through the movie. The colors are amazing, the casting is perfect and I feel like I am reading/watching a comic book. To those who have never watch this movie, I recommend you give it a chance. It is really funny.

Speed Races Review

I found the DVD to be very good. The film is a melding of annination and real time acting which comes together quite well. It is not a realistic movie and is not intened to be as it mimics the cartoon of the mid 1960's. Anyone who watched the original series will find this movie a nice addition to their collection. MOST UNDERRATED FILM OF 21th CENTURY

Speed Racer flopped in the Box office. I dont know why, Its great for the whole and i mean whole family and its got a unique visual style making it more appealing. Wachoski Bros(Directors) have yet to make a movie unworthy of a purchase. The Matrix and V for Vendetta were different but in a good way and Speed Racer no doubt is worth watching many times over.Read full review...
