Whole house surge protector
This is the second one I have installed as I just moved into a new home. This is an improved version so they say. Never had any surge damage before amd hopefully won't now. The flush mount kits were out of stock so I improvised. Installed the unit inside the panel and provided a view window for the led indicator. Used a plastic yellow lens to cover the hole. If the kit were in stock it was close to $45.00 which is allot for a mounting plate. I used a simpson 3x7 tie plate to mount inside the panel. Read full review

LED's are VERY VERY DIM!
Installed this product but was a little bummed with the result. For a LONG time people have complained about the LED's being very dim! I though "Surely by now this has been fixed since it is a respected brand: Square D". However either this is OLD inventory OR they never fixed the product! I live in Arizona where the sun is BRIGHT!
The only time to see if these devices are working is at night. I cannot see them lit up in the day time even when I try shielding them from sunlight with my hand.Read full review

Protected my home. Really works!
Just had a surge one week after I installed it. A woodpecker decided to "sound off" on the pole transformer used to power my house. He jumped the hot 4KV line to ground and produced a huge arc knocking out the power to the whole neighborhood. None of the electrical equipment in my home was hurt. Once received, install your new breaker and make sure it is the first breaker on the box that gets power. This way you cover devices that are connected to other breakers.
I have not had to use it, (and I have installed 3 of these surge protectors) but just from reading the warranty guide tells me it is not easy to get a claim. However, this is not the reason I purchased. Read full review

Easy installation. So far so good.
I recently installed this item in my house. I am a DIYer. The amount of time that the power was off was less than 15 minutes and it went right into a double pole 30 amp breaker that I had to pick up at the local Box Store. I would recommend this to anybody that needs whole house surge protection type 2 as well as using the power strips that are surge protectors at the actual Electronics or equipment. Read full review

Provides Whole House Protection from Electrical Surges.
This is the kind of product you will never know for sure whether it's working or not unless you get an electrical surge and the only thing that shows any effect is the HEPD80 itself. It has two indicator lights to show that it is working. If one or both lights goes off then you probably had a surge. If nothing else in the house was effected, then it probably worked. I installed it because I did have a large surge earlier this year and it damaged numerous pieces of equipment in the house. This unit has very good specifications. It's sort of a form of insurance against electrical damage. Square D is a very good name in electrical products.Read full review

Cheap protection for your electronic devices
