Not for older QO panels

It is advertised as fitting Square D type QO panels. It isn't mentioned that it only fits the newer QO panels. The groove in the bottom of the surge protector isn't wide enough to go over the plastic divider that is between the buss tabs of earlier panels. To snap into place, the groove would need to be the same as it is with any 2 pole QO breaker. It makes no sense that it is narrower.Read full review

Things they Never mention when Buying Sensitive Electronic Equipment.

Decided to install this in my circuit breaker boxes after doing some research and losing some of my kitchen appliances to power surges. Sadly, most people don't realize this is a necessity today and you need to install layering surge protection in your household as everything is pretty much electronic based today. Ironic no one ever mentioned protecting my household appliances and electronics when purchasing them with a whole house surge unit like this? It's way cheaper than finding out the hard way and replacing your expensive electronic equipment due to lightning hits nearby and power surges. I would highly recommend installing a whole house lightning arrestor, along with these main panel surge protectors and quality name brand surge protection strips on any sensitive electronic equipment in your house unless you don't care. Much Needed Entrance Surge Protection

If you have a Square D QO breaker box with space for a 220V breaker, this surge protector is for you. Mount it as close to the main breaker as possible. Move breakers if necessary. Don't forget that you will still require surge protection at each electronic device that needs to be protected inside of you house. That means anything that contains a circuit board. Worthwhile investment

Having this surge protector in the panel gives peace of mind. Had to spread the jaws a little with a screwdriver to fit over the bus bar; apart from that, installation was easy.

Better than nothing
