Excellent Idea, Disappointing Presentation

I assume you will buy this Blu for the new never-before-seen footage. This amounts to approx 35 min of new material. The material is presented to you intercut into three documentaries in SD quality with annoying text on the screen telling you, "Deleted Scene." There is no index of all of the deleted scenes, so you will have to hunt through the documentaries and extras if you want to find a scene later to watch. No attempt has been made to color correct or otherwise restore the vault footage with the exception of a few special effect composites. The live action scenes are presented as found complete with stains, scratches, dirt, and color shit to magenta/red, and in SD quality. The idea of this set is excellent, but the presentation here is truly disappointing. One nice feature is the ability to access the music tracks to all but one of the episodes included in the set. However, I had issues with some episodes having the dialogue slightly out of sync on my player. The episodes here are re-encoded in AVC and not the same as the complete series BD set which was VC-1. They seem slightly sharper and have more grain, although I'm not sure this justifies the purchase of this set. Lots of never-before-seen clips

Always great to watch old Star Trek episodes, but the real show on these discs are the interviews and showing of clips that have never been shown before. Stuff that was edited out before the original episodes aired, but the clips were saved and now they're being shown. Very fun to see them. Sometimes you can tell why the scene might have been cut. Other times, it seems the episode would have been better if the cut hadn't been made. In either case, interesting to see these "lost" clips.Read full review...

If you thought you saw every scene in Star trek... Wait until you buy this blu ray. You will be delightfully surprised what has been hidden away for 50 years. deleted scenes omitted dialogue.
I hope they come out with a part two. They can.
Buy this for any true star trek fan.
