Great Book!

I've read alot of Star Wars books, so it was nice to read one that gets you away from the norm. In the majority of SW's books it's generally about jedi and their struggle against the Empire. This book changed that formula and introduced us to several new characters. In this book, Karen Traviss does a great job of developing the characters of Omega Squad and makes us really start to care for them as individual soldiers. I wanted a star wars book about the republic commandoes. I would like to know more about republic commandoes so I bought the book and it also not a lot of money and I guess it goes to a charity

This Star Wars book was one of the best one's I have ever read. I highly recommend this book to all Star Wars lovers.

A very good book based on a video game

Star Wars Republic Commando is a soft covered book written by Karen Traviss. The book was released in 2005 by Del Rey Books.

This book is a tie in or extension of the Republic Commando video game. I am always a bit nervous about books based upon games but this was a nice surprise. The book focuses on Omega Squadron, an elite commando squad for the Grand Army of the Republic.

The book delves nicely into the training of the clone troopers, the feelings of Jedi about using the clones, and of course great action. The part I like about this book is that you are living the adventure from inside the unit. You get to see what it is like to be a commando in the Star Wars universe that is expected to do the impossible.

Overall I think this a great starting point for the Republic Commando book line.
