"Crawl" appears in Spanish when using internal Blu-Ray drive; standalone player no problem

So, this is more of an industry-wide issue than just this particular product, but on my internal drive on my HTPC the "Star Wars Crawl", and "In a galaxy far, far away..." are all in Spanish. There is no setting on the software (Leawo) or the disc menus to fix it. The only solution is using my standalone Blu-Ray player, which isn't brand new either. The default is English there.

One thing I will say is that the DVD set I gave to my nephews that I'm replacing with this one had a ton more artwork on the inside of the packaging as well as on the discs. I didn't think this would matter to me, but it really does add to the experience. This set is really drab and straight forward inside.

Bootleg

I bought this "9 disc set" of Blu Rays, received bootleg copy of 12 disc set. It wasn't even the 2011 blu ray versions on DVD, which is what you'd get if this was official, it was the 2006 DVD set of the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy discs. The resolution is alright, but the bitrate is low, producing a somewhat blocky image, with clearly visible compression artifacts. Not worth it.Read full review...

In the end I got what I was expecting, the movies and some bonus features

This is a 9 disc Blu-ray disc set
1-3 Blu-ray are the prequels, Phantom Menace, Attack of The Clones and Revenge of the Sith. With Blu-ray the quality of video and audio are exceptional, It all depends on how you feel about these movies, I did not care for attack of the clones but Phantom Menace is acceptable as well as revenge of the sith (in my opinion) obviously, Revenge of the Sith has memorable tacky lines which bring the whole movie down.

4-6 are the original trilogy (new edition) they have the modification that Lucas did on them, which are bad but not horrible as some people have stated, will not debate about who shot first. They have great audio, and the picture is more than acceptable.

7-9 are the Bonus Features, these are the ones that are the biggest let down. The content is not bad but surfing the material is annoying at best, too long (for me) to watch it all in one sitting, and in my opinion the best documentaries/featurettes are not available. I was also expecting more info about the prequels.

A diamond in your collection

Very good material for sure , the master piece of cience fiction history. As a product is a good one colectible for the image and the material use to package. On the other hand, the case , yes the simple blue ray case is made of poor quality and it brokes at the center where the cd's goes in and in other parts the same thing hapens. The plastic is thin and fragile. This negative thing don't invalid that this one was made to shine like a diamond on your collection as a fanatic of the saga.Read full review...

Flawed as usual, but still a great saga...

First off, I am a huge Star Wars fan. I love the saga, I am not one of those people that constantly complain about the changes and how I only want the original movies the way that they were. I like additional insight into the story I know and love. Sure, there's bad acting. Sure, there's flaws in continuity. They're movies, and sci-fi fantasy ones at that, so you have to take these things with a grain of salt people. That being said, I enjoy the Blu-Ray version of my favorite movies, but I can't help but notice a few changes that have actually made me a little disappointed. They look great, and some of the new additions are very welcome but don't do a whole lot. I have by no means scoured these new offerings as of yet, but a cursory watching has brought a few things to my attention. The one glaring change that most, if not all, fans don't like is the addition of the "Nooooooo" to RotJ. I don't either, but whatever. What I noticed about RotJ immediately, is that the audio for the first 10-15 minutes of the movie seems a split second off: the voices don't quite match up with the actor's mouth movements. The second big thing for me was in TPM: in the scene where Qui-gon and Maul fight for the first time on Tattooine, after Qui-gon escapes and Maul is standing there before switching off his saber, Maul's saber is now orange instead of red. Really disappointing after the huge deal that was made about fixing Luke's saber color aboard the Millenium Falcon. I am happy though about the fixing of Luke and Vader's sabers in front of Palpatine's face, and the removal of the "space slugs" from the Emperor's eyes that have bothered me since childhood. The deleted scenes that were included are ones that we've seen before, and the additional ones for the prequel movies that we haven't are shoddily put together, as though they had nothing left to work with but needed to throw together to justify an inclusion of a special features disc. I do enjoy the documentaries, and the collecting of them all in one handy place is much appreciated. Overall, I am happy with my purchase because of the fact that I am switching all of my library over to Blu-Ray anyway and my favorite movies deserve to be among that collection. The small flaws can be overlooked, and there are always going to be some anyway with such a nitpicky director. If you haven't previously purchased the saga before, and you enjoy the quality of Blu-Ray, I would recommend this to you.Read full review...

Star Wars Saga 2011 Blu-Ray Set

Amazing sound and picture. Only flaw is that these are not the original theatrical versions. These have the George Lucas "New Edition" tweaks that can be annoying if you're a purist. Otherwise, it's a great value and very entertaining.Read full review...

Lucas, stop Altering these films!!!!!!

What can I say about the most popular films of all time that hasn't already been said?
The Blu Ray experience for these films was awesome.
What I don't like is every time these films are RE-released, George Lucas adds more or alters them. Lucas, LEAVE THEM ALONE!
I waited almost a year to buy these because of one reason...adding Vader yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" when he grabbed the Emporer to toss him down the shaft. NOT NEEDED! That scene was perfect WITHOUT it, and ruined (to me) one of the finest turns in cinematic history.
Audiences SCREAMED in delight when it happened, and it worked. (Then)Yelling "NOOOOOOOOOO" made him seem weak.
George, the bottom line is, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!
You want to do some good? TOTALLY REMOVE JAR-JAR BINKS FROM ALL OF THESE FILMS!!!!!!!

Classic Star Wars Trilogy enhanced and fleshed out with the pre-New Hope Trilogy collection.

Let's face it. "A New Hope" drew us baby boomers in and the remainder of the original trilogy kept us hooked for decades. There will never be an equal experience to the wonder we were caught up in watching the first big screen theater release all those years ago. With today's production techniques, much of the awe of that first screening is now commonplace. I likely will never have that experience again, but that doesn't mean the series doesn't continue to speak to me. I have seen all six on their initial theater release, but wanted to watch the entire series in order to see if I might enjoy it viewed in that manner. This is a great compilation for that effort with video complimenting my 4K monitor and a theater soundtrack that my own sound system can rattle the walls with.Read full review...

Satisfying Family-Friendly Entertainment

All 6 movies in this classic Star Wars: the Complete Saga are very family-friendly, yet still very entertaining for just about all ages, even for those who may not be exactly sci-fi fans.
It's great having all the movies in the set available together. After all, a great story is best watched consecutively, in order, either over the course of several days (Star Wars family movie week), or why not do a marathon (Star Wars family movie day)!!Read full review...

Very good collection

This review is for the STAR WARS THE COMPLETE SAGA 1,2,3,4,5,6 (9 BLU-RAY Discs Box Set) with Darth Vader in cover. Contains the remastered versions of the episodes IV, V and VI.
It really is a complete collection of Star Wars. All extras are very nice, some can be very short, others long, but overall very entertaining. All extra content, to the smallest clip are fully subtitled in Spanish and French. Some parts from some extras contents are slightly desynchronized subtitles for a second or two delay, nothing to ruin the experience.
I recommend this purchase for both fans and for newcomers. It is true that the remastered versions of Lucas on episodes IV , V and VI annoy many Puritans, but let's leave aside so cheap talk ultraconservative, most have accepted that improvements are fabulous in 90% of cases and make more homogeneous whole story of the 6 movies and even fits better with the new trilogy that has just started with the episode VII.

Holy Bantha!

What a deal, getting this set brand-new for only $40! (Not sure why, maybe because of the "defective" [one page reversed - no biggie] booklet?) But hey - packaging aside - this is the 9-disc Blu set, and the content is the draw here. Surely, there's a 9-FILM set coming, down the road a couple years. Maybe that set will even feature the ORIGINAL cuts of these films (now that George is no longer in charge). But that's then. For now, this suits me just fine.Read full review...
