Light mounts to single picatinny slot. Throws beam over 300 yards in a very useable pattern. Remote pressure switch is easy to mount and use. Variable functions for different defensive and tactical situations. Light can run on two CR123 batteries or one 18650 rechargeable battery. Wow, this light is bright and built like tank. I love the brackets it came with to mount it to my rail. I didn't see a need to use the zip ties. I'm not going into combat anytie soon. Great throw, very bright at a distance with enough spill for closer use, such as down a hallway... In that it is a good “carbine” light with flexibility of use. The programming is easy, defaulted to the brightest setting with strobe as a double tap. Highly recommend this light for those considering a mounted light.
