Best Football Game Ever

Tecmo Super Bowl on SNES plays like previous Tecmo football games, with some enhancements. Tecmo Super Bowl consists of very simple, arcade-style football. The controls are very easy to learn, and the playcalling is not overly complex. Tecmo Super Bowl is so fun because of its very simplistic nature. It's a game that anyone can pick up and enjoy without having to be a football strategian.
And unlike many sports games, Tecmo Super Bowl actually has some charm. There are many cutscenes and music tunes for events like rushing for 100 yards or sacking a quarterback. The music of the game really put me in a football mood. The combination of exciting arcade gameplay with an all-out presentation makes this a special game. Tecmo Super Bowl has the usual season mode and vs. modes. People who are used to realistic football games will be put off by the basic nature of this game and the lack of realism, but I'll take this over any football sim.Read full review...

hands down this game is the best !! it is just as much fun as the original nes version. heck, its even better !! its got some classic players on it also . since this game is from the early 90s youll be playing with rice on the 49ers and emmit smith and aikman on the cowboys. lawrence taylor, derrick thomas, all sorts of modern day legends are here !! at your control !! so i strongly recommend this game. it is fast paced and easy to pick up. it wont bore you like madden and all the new football games .pick it up and run seasons on it with stats updated after every game.Read full review...

Great football game

This is the best old school football game out there. It has all the features of the NES version (NFL, NFLPA licenses, playing as many teams as you want in regular season mode, keeping stats, great music, great cutscenes, etc..) along with better graphics. It's true that it doesn't have all the realism of the Madden games. However if you're looking for a fun football game that lets you get right into playing without a ton of ad on, then you can't do better than this game.Read full review...
