Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts SNES

This game is a work of art. As a child I would intentionally stay home from school just to play this game, I once owned this game many years ago sadly it was lost, I have a copy again and am so excited to beat it once more. once played through with emulation and the codes make it truly a work of art.Read full review...

The Game Glitches

We were super excited to receive our video game. However, after playing it for a while, we finally got to the end of level 3 and the video glitches; you can hear the collar you’re supposed to be playing against but he doesn’t show up on the screen. We watched a bunch of you tube videos and figured out how to beat the level. However, the next level doesn’t show up on the screen either, the graphics are just black. Very sad and disappointing. Absolutely hardcore

If you thought Ghouls and Ghosts and Ghosts and Goblins were hardcore, well think again. Those games were just a warm-up compared to the nightmare that is Super ghouls and ghosts!

This game is absolutely hardcore. If you make a single tiny mistake in judgement no matter how seemingly insignificant, you will die. Super Ghouls and Ghosts has the distinction of being the first game where the protagonist Arthur is capable of double jumping! Does that make the gameplay easier??? No... it makes it HARDER in fact because you have to use that double jump as often as you possibly can!

And of course, if you've played this game before, then you know that once you've completed it... you have to beat the game AGAIN! What, you think I'm joking? No! I'm serious!

The saving graces of this game are that the music is great, the graphics are beautiful(even for a 16 bit game), the gameplay is actually pretty fun for something this bone-crushingly difficult, but since it is so difficult and so frustrating there is no way I can call this game excellent.

It's definitely not a game for everyone, because practically nobody has the kind of patience required to beat a game of this scope and magnitude...TWICE!

fun platformer in a masochistic sort of way.

One of my favorite platformers. Really hard and very long though. Be prepared to die a lot, per level. Also there is no save or password system. So you're gonna need to leave it on and just continue a lot.

I personally like the art style a lot. Cartoony and playful, aged well over the years.

The controls are excellent, just remember that arthur is not quite the jumper mario is. It's much easier when you stay on the ground and plan your jumps carefully, kindof like castlevania in that way.

Think that covers most of the important stuff about the game. Highly recommended if you want a serious challenge.

A classic Capcom title, Harder than hell, but definitely worth a play.

Another update of Capcom’s classic side scrolling arcade Ghosts and Goblins Series.
A very hard game, but a challenge well worth facing.
Any fan of Capcom or Super Nintendo should have this game.Read full review...

If I had a penny for every time I had to continue, I would buy more copies

I am going to keep this review short and basic. Here is all that you need to know: THIS GAME IS HARD!!!! This may just be the hardest game that I have ever played and I have played a lot of games. I remember playing it as a little kid and after buying it as an adult I put in the game, turned it on, started playing and thought to myself "Oh, I remember this level." Several hours later, I realized that as a kid, I had never made it past that opening level and struggle to do so now. But it is in its difficulty that the game finds its fun. I didn't really find myself getting frustrated at this game as i did with other games, even though this game is more difficult than others. I found myself wanting to keep playing to make it farther than I did last time. Its charm is not for everyone. Some people could play it for five minutes and give up on it, never to play it again. Others could pick it up and play it for hours on end. It all comes down to how you view yourself as a player. If you like a challenge and think you would like this game then go for it, I highly recommend it. If you have your doubts or are not very patient then I suggest you stay away. Personally, I think the game is wonderful, worth what I paid for it and I still haven't made it past the first level.Read full review...

Classic game for the collection.

I rented this game several times as a kid, but never added it to my titles. I wanted to share it with my 16yr old, who is enjoying classic Nintendo games. I already knew it was good and challenging. Damn it is just as hard as I remember it being! Lol.

SNES game

Nostalgia, a game that presents challenges as you make your way through a 2D platform of ghouls and ghosts. As Arthur, an knight who is forced to fight his way to his damsel in distress, you learn quick that timed jumping is as important as well thrown lancer. Your weapon variety and armor upgrades give you a fighting chance as well as non repetitive game play. There is a big surprise if you make it to the end. Big Surpise. 1 Player Adventure! Not recommended for beginner players.Read full review...
