Super Scope 6 (Super Nintendo)

This is an excellent gaming accessory for the Super NES game system. It opens a whole new world of games than those designed to be played with the traditional system controllers. It's similar to the shooting gallery games from the original NES system except the Super Scope is completely cordless. It's a fun and challenging game for the entire family, if the scope is purchased as the original complete package. Other individual games also use the scope. If not purchased with the manual, one key factor to making it work is plugging the sensor into the second game controller slot-a piece I had forgotten from years ago when I first owned one (it was stolen) and created the need to purchase a second that was complete with manuals.

One noted drawback is that a conscious effort must be made to turn the unit off as it will drain the 6 D size batteries quickly. They normally will provide about an hour or two of active play time. Best to have the giant economy size pack on hand if sitting down for an evening of entertainment. There is nothing worse than to have the batteries die without warning half way through.

If you enjoy the "shoot 'em-up" games and enjoy the old SNES games, this is an accessory that would appeal to you. Some games also require use of the regular controller in addition to the Super Scope to complete the tasks due to the jumping and other movements needed. Technically they are single player games but it's quite a challenge to switch between controller and scope to get through each level. That aspect makes it the perfect family entertainment as one would shoot and another make the other movements using the controller.

All things considered, a lot of fun can be had for kids of all ages with this item. When purchasing off ebay or any other auction site-know what you're getting. I had to ask specifically about the manuals since some sellers included them in the auction but did not mention or include pictures. Conversly, some listed the package as "totally complete" but when I asked about the manuals, they were not included. Some may not know how to hook it up-as I did not-and may mention that they don't know if it works. Not knowing that the sensor must go into the second controller slot in order to make the whole thing work is very significant. But it may allow a knowledgeable gamer to pick one of these items up very reasonably. I took the 'guaranteed to work' route and paid much more for it. I'm not complaining because now I have two and they are quite fun. If only they didn't go through batteries so quickly but you definitely have to remember when you have it on and to turn it off (sounds simple but it's SO easy to forget).

Awesome!!! A must-have for a mild gamer to a SNES collector.

Super Scope 6 is a very unique classic game for the SNES, released in 1992. It can only be played with the underrated and short-lived Super Scope Gun/Bazooka. This was the game included with the Super Scope, and the one most people who bought it played first. Later on, Sega copied Nintendo and released the Sega Genesis' Menacer, their attempt at a gun for a 16-Bit game console. Super Scope 6, as the title suggests, has six main game modes. These include puzzle games such as Blastris (Imagine playing Tetris or Tetris 2 with a Bazooka), and action games such as LazerBlazer (3 different games in which you destroy airborne missiles, destroy invading aliens, and play Whack-a-Mole). Super Scope 6 has good graphics and very fun gameplay, ranging from very easy to very intense. To play this game you need a SNES model 1/2 console, this game cartridge, a Super Scope Gun, and a Super Scope reciever.Read full review...

Great piece of Nintendo history

Doesn’t have that many games but is very accurate if you get a good working gun. I had a lot of fun with it. And most of all it just looks great to have with my snes.

I love it met my expectations in every way.

It strangly works much better than it seemes like it would, the aim is almost dead on and you can still shoot fine at most distances, the games are simple yet very addicting, just a great thing to own just for fun, or for a heavy collector. My only complaint is how fast the batteries drain, you will need atleast 18 batteries spare, to keep it going working for continous amounts of time every day. It takes 6 double A batteries.Read full review...
