Why the TP-Link, model Archer 7 AC1750, should be on your list when considering a new router

I have worked with routers from many different manufacturers, including TP-Link, Asus, Cisco, Linksys, and Netgear.

I am using this router as an Access Point, extending my wired network as I ran out of ports, and also taking advantage of Wi-Fi for users on their mobile devices.

I looked at many different manufacturers and models, read the reviews, and selected this one because of the combination of (1) positive reviews (2) features (3) competitive price (4) slim size.

Easy to install but low transmission.

The AC1750 was easy to install. The wireless coverage was totally adequate for the immediate area where it was placed. It did not cover the 1600 Sq Ft as advertised. I wanted the bluetooth to work in a room abut 25 feet away and the transmission was spotty. Read full review...

A GREAT BUY THAT WORKS GREAT !

Once I did the initial basics she took off and FLEW ! The phone company sold me one for the house of another brand that worked fine for $160. I needed a second one for my shop and bought this one for $50. This Archer 7 gets right in there a pitches it just as fast or faster for $110 less. I'M VERY HAPPY! And; This Archer 7 looks a lot better in the room with more style.Read full review...

Great Product

I use to have an older model of a Netgear Wifi Router and I continuously was getting "dropped" connection. It was time for a new router but I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for just movie/game streaming. The TP-Link router has done it's job with no lost connection so I am happy. It is a bit large compared to my old router, that is one thing I would change about it.Read full review...

Better range and speed

I have been using my trusty ole Linksys WRT54G for the longest time, just because it had all the options I needed, and has been rock solid. However, range with it was not good enough to reliably get to my garage. I've tried other routers, but they performed about the same, and some had less options. This one was rated as having good range and speed, so decided to give it a go, as I got it pretty cheap on here. Wow, great connection out in the garage. And not only that, ran speed tests at various far corners of the house and garage, with results almost doubling my old router. This one has 5Ghz speed, whereas my old one didn't, but I was skeptical on how the higher frequency would penetrate the couple house walls, aluminum siding, and into the garage. It does very good, with reception to the far corner of my garage, it's detached. I'm running just over 20 devices with my google homes and chromecasts and other odd stuff. My PC's are hardwired to a Linksys wrt1200ac, with a wire ran to the TP link at the other end of the house, and it handles wireless tx/rx, while the linksys does the actual dhcp and stuff. I have been using it only a few weeks so far, but it's been solid, no complaints.Read full review...

This Wi-Fi router is by far the best I’ve ever owned🎉 I have yet to see a loading bar when playing YouTube videos! Highly recommend this product and it has been so useful as I have been able to print off anything I need in my house at any time without needing to do anything special with the printer!!!Read full review...

Good value router

This router works very well and is a good value. I would have given it five stars, but the antennas are not removable. One of mine arrived loose so that it falls over. I was able to shim it up and it works okay now. It can run OpenWRT as an alternative to the factory firmware.Read full review...

Great router for Smart Home devices.

I purchased this router because I have been slowly building up my smart home and gradually adding more and more WiFi-connected devices. It got to the point where my network was just way too congested and my WiFi got too bogged down. Too many IP addresses for my basic ISP provided router. Pretty much everyone recommended the Nighthawk router however, it was twice the price with the same specs. Found this router and thought I would give it a try based on its awesome reviews. I’m impressed! I can literally use an app on my phone to manage my router settings and WiFi network. No more typing an IP address into a browser. Internet seem to be good again as well. So far so good.Read full review...
