Works well as a Car WiFi Hotspot.

I wanted a WiFi Hotspot in my car for my Android Head Unit but all the units available from the carriers in the US included OBDII monitoring and I did not want that because of the possible security issues involved. I also did not want to pay for that monitoring service that I don't want or need.

I coupled this unit with a Verizon USB modem that was on their supported list and it works flawlessly. It creates and maintains a good 4G connection. I have a car made of composites so was able to mount the USB modem under the trunk lid and wire it back to the router with a USB cable inside the passenger compartment. This gives me optimal reception for the modem antenna and great WiFi inside the car.

It is all wired up to the ignition with a delay off circuit so the WiFi stays on for 15 minutes after the ignition is turned off. All of this cost less than an OBDII unit from Verizon and does exactly what I want.

My only complaint is the amount of time it takes for the 4G to connect. The router completely boots first and then it powers up and connects the modem to the network. The only thing that would make this better is if the router powered up the modem faster so that they booted at the same time. That being said, I still give it 5 stars because it does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do.

Inexpensive and Passes My Personal Weather Station Data Along

I was really looking to get the version 1 as opposed to the version 3 that I got. It does make a difference for my application (to feed personal weather station info to the internet) but I was able to make it work properly with just a little extra effort. It set up easily and quickly. The cost was definitely a good point as it was low. I hope I never need to buy another one but if I do I would not hesitate to get the MR3020 again.Read full review...

Decent product, does what it says!

I bought this router to share my mobile internet with other computers and wifi appliances. It works well for me and has not crashed or had any connection failures by this far (5 weeks).I like this product. It is easy to use. Real "Plug & Play" product. 220v power source with different sockets + mini-USB/ USB cable came with it. I personally just connected my USB mobile modem to it, turned the switch in TP-Link unit to 3G/4G, then powered up the unit and that was it. Internet worked fine on every gadget. First time connection needs the WPA encryption password given to your Wifi gadget, Password can be found on side of the unit.
The only downside for my opinion is the range of this unit. I think it is sufficient to most, something like 20 meters inside (no concrete walls) but I've seen much better.
I would buy another one.

TLMR3020

Bought the TMLR-3020 to as a hotspot. Later found out how the WISP, works best with open networks (no password ). You can also use the router as a WiFi network without internet for private file transfer and as a remote. I’m a full thin RV’er & had the TLMR3020 4yrs+Read full review...

Good product and easy to execute. Nothing technical!

Pretty good. I have T Mobile Rocket connected to it. It is not the fast like ATT, Sprint and Verizon, but I am saving money instead of giving it away. I like the fact that it plugs into the wall for continuous power instead of relying on oddly shaped batteries or non removable batteries that die on you. It is easy to set up. It get spotty sometimes, but thats broadband for you.If you are curious, I say go for it.Just watch who you have your service with. There is only one company today that offers unlimited in a way. Your data speed just slow down after you exceed your limit and you don't even get charged for it unlike some others who will bankrupt you on a contract...Dirty crooks!Read full review...

Good gadjet for all users

TL-MR3020 is the ideal travel partner for people on the go. 3G Router Mode enables you to plug in a 3G USB modem and share it wirelessly. Its Travel Router Mode (AP Mode) allows you to conveniently setup an internet connection utilizing a hotel WAN cable. Meanwhile, you can also use the switch on the side of the router to choose between Travel Router Mode, 3G Router Mode and WISP Client Router Mode based on your different requirements.Read full review...
