Great Kit from Tamiya!
This kit is a fun build, relatively simple and is a sheer joy to drive! Its a beetle body on a stadium truck chassis. Handling is well rounded for on road and offroad. As with any kit you build, pickup a set of bearings and a set of oil dampened shocks for even better performance. The decals on this kit should be put on with the aid of a heat gun to help them mould around the body better. They do become brittle with time and tend to chip off. I had mine as one of my main runners for over 4 yrs now!
As far as durability goes, the body is pretty tough for only having 3 mounting points. The first part you will probably break is the nose. The nose on mine has been broken more times than Rocky Balboa's and is now a piece of the past. The gear box seems to handle a Castle 4600kv motor well on a 5A nimh battery. The tires are ok for most terrain, but will NOT last long on pavement; especially the rear.
Overall, this kit captures the feel of a classic stadium truck with a very attractive look and color scheme that will stand out wherever you take this classic! Happy building!Read full review...
