LOVE THIS LENSE!! im a beginner and this is a grrreat beginners lense. i can do landscape to portraits. my friends and family tell me my pictures look like professional. my favorite compliment regardimg the portraits of my 2 yr old, "where did you get these pictures done?" i love that, i proudly get to say I DID IT!! it is a little heavy,not really ment for video, my videos sometimes come out blurry havn't figured out how to get it crisp everytime. its kinda a crap shoot. but when it is clear it looks GOOOD, and sound quality is real goodRead full review...

excellent cost vs. benefit

Good image for a quite cheap lens, however, af is not THAT good :( and at 50mm image is not sharp enough, if you can go for the sigma 17-50 2.8 instead

Fast lens but could be sharper

I bought this lens because I needed something with a bit more speed in lower lighting conditions. Performs great in the speed department, but the sharpness isn't what it could be.
