Movie was and is fabulous.
The use of new technology to make Tarzan fly through the scene were well done, though a bit like a roller coaster.
<br>His Tarzan yell was one of the best done
His interaction with Jane was lots of fun.
I liked how flexible Tarzan was in different situations, made him seem to grow up right before your eyes.

Last of a few great animations~

I've always loved Tarzan since I was a little kid. I've seen many movies based on Tarzan but my favorite was Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan - Lord of the Apes. Disney's feature does a good job of re-telling this wonderful tale. Although Disney has it's own twists on this story, it does stay true to the premise of Tarzan. It's interesting to see the connection between the ape and human side of the feature. Tarzan knows he's different and it may seem like he's selfish in that his curiosity to wanting to know about the humans leads his troop into danger. "Tarzan, Collector's" edition is truly the "King" of the jungle.

Love this 2 disc edition of one of my favorite movies PERIOD. A ridiculous amount of extras that are wonderful. I esp love the drawings & sketches & seeing the raw materials on the character of Tarzan come together. To see how they made the character from the book into a character that is even MORE wondrous & beautiful ( as a man, and a child of apes ) in the movie version.
The movie itself is magnificent. The expressions & body language if Tarzan are mesmerizing. To see the transition from infant to child to young man is uplifting & breathtaking. Watching two species trying to communicate with each other & the difficulties that go along with it. But they can ultimately understand one another because of the things they have in common that go beyond language. It is a great movie ( like Dumbo or Lady & the Tramp) for anyone who ever felt he or she did not fit in. It is also a nice metaphor for what I like to call the God spark.( I think it is also no coincidence that Phil calls his song "Son of Man." ) If God created everything, then a piece of Him is IN everything. So maybe the Little piece of God in Tarzan & in the creatures & the wild itself allow that they are all able to communicate with one another, to live with one another, struggle, learn & need & love one another, and know that we are all family.

Great Movie+, Good Sound+, Thick Case -

I bought this dvd because I have been working on rebuilding a Disney collection for myself and my newborn neice. This is one of the movies that I grew up with and was really excited to find a Two-Disc Collector's Edition Tarzan! I've heard complaints about the audio not being mixed to include subwoofer. My sound system does not include a subwoofer. I do have high quality speakers and it sounded just fine. Deep low end and crisp highs. If you have regular speakers capable of handling lower frequencies, you will not be upset.

There is enough bonus material on this release that justifies having a second disc, which isn't so common I realized.

The only thing that really annoys me as the dvd case was one of the early 2-disc designs which means thats its really thick. Its almost twice as thick as a regular case. Im kinda anal about my dvd cases being in alphabetical order and uniform in size. But that is really stupid to worry about! I haven't seen any other 2 disc release for Tarzan besides this one so far, if you are looking to continue a collection I would highly recommend this over any of the 1 disc releases.Read full review...

The ORIGINAL definitive Tarzan DVD

I had purchased this a long time ago, and it was lost in a move. Much to my dismay, Disney had vaulted it, and the copies that were out didn't have all of the background extras that I loved so much about this version. There are just a ton of behind the scenes interviews, looks into production art, the initial dev shots for the Deep Canvas process used to create Tarzans 3D moves through the jungle, and so much more. If you are looking to pick up Tarzan on DVD, and love really good special features that go beyond the basic cast bios and interviews, this is the only version to get.Read full review...

Tarzan--one of Disney's best!

Disney's Tarzan is nothing short of a masterpiece in cinematic animation. All the way from the brilliant soundtrack work from Phil Collins, to the, at times, breathtaking artwork of the Disney animators, to the wonderful casting of voices (my personal favorite female Disney voice--Minnie Driver) that bring to life the classic but updated story of Tarzan. Appropriate for all ages, though mild violence (gunplay and 'Disney death') is throughout so parents should be aware. Tarzan and The Lost City DVD

What to say about it. Well, next to the animated Disney version of Tarzan, this would be the latest Live Action film done of Tarzan to date. Now I'm a Tarzan fan, and so, my main motivator for buying this DVD, was to add to my collection. The movie it's self is kind of a B movie. It showed in theaters for a short while. It star's Casper Van Dien and Jane March. The story could be better. Hell, there's a lot of things that could be better with this movie. More or less, you can see where they just rushed it along to get a Tarzan movie out. Still, if your a Tarzan collector, this should not be left out of your inventory. And it's rated PG, so it's something you can enjoy with the kids.Read full review...

Tarzan 2-Disc Collector's DVD

This is the DVD for Disney's Tarzan fans. The movie has great picture quality and sound. There are many extras such as abandoned sequences, interviews with the animators and voice actors, interviews with Phil Collins as he explains how he came up with the music for the movie, and the history of the production. These are all done in short featurettes, which is nice if you don't feel like seeing certain things and want to skip to what you do want to see. They have footage of the crew's trip to Africa for inspiration. There are also Phil Collins early song demos with different titles which you can listen to. Even though the songs have different titles you can tell which song it evolved to. All in all this 2-disc set is far superior to the single DVD released in 2005.Read full review...
