A must-have!

Dare I say, if there were a definitive bible for vintage 1958-60's Les Paul guitars, this may be the closest thing you will find.
I own a hardcover, still in it's original wrapping - #69 of 1000. I also own a spiral-bound copy for viewing, which lays flat, making it an excellent coffee table book. The regular softcover edition is slightly smaller.
The photos are stunning, and it is hard to put down once you open it up. There are also sections in the back that describe everything you would want to know about this 3-year run; From how figures/grain is determined, hardware, dimentional, and wiring specs, even testimonials from some famous Les Paul owners.
The earlier Japanese version of this book includes a profile for Ed King's LP, not found in the English version.

Truly a compelling publication for the aficionado!

The "Burst" Book

The book is well done. It not only looks good on a coffee table, but is analytical in its approach to the guitars that are featured. A true wealth of knowledge that I was unaware of until I started reading it. I will never be worthy of one of these fine instruments, but I can scour the world armed with the knowledge that the book imparts for an LP with a look and sound that may closely replicate it.Read full review...

Great photography and info on the iconic era of Les Pauls!

Iconic work on the collectible era of Gibson Les Paul guitars - ‘58 to ‘60 sun bursts. The photography in this the paperback English translation is spectacular. The accompanying information about the guitars and the most avid of collectors is engaging to enthusiasts. So much more than a coffee table book.Read full review...

A good book on Les Pauls

It could use more info on the history of each guitar, or anecdotes about each, but aside from that, it's excellent.
