True Pioneer story all the way.

IF you like wagon train/pioneer stories - this one is one of the most realistic you will read. It has several sad parts... but that is just the way of pioneer life. It is written like an actual diary - the private thoughts of Mattie. Great characters and interesting story of determination and perseverance. Very enjoyable.Read full review...

My friends and I loved this book but we all thought it was sad as well. We would write a different ending! This is one of Dallas' best books.

Life of a ppersons diary

Book was a quaint look and a private time when is was fun and scary to be alone in a prarie moutain valley kind of understanding. Nice read at the time i read it .
