Easy ways to improve your dog's diet for longevity and health. These expert authors are the real deal.

I've followed both authors for years and know they are experts in dog food and dog care in general. I like their idea of implementing changes in your dog's diet (for the better, of course) in small amounts and working up from there. My dog's already eating maybe a teaspoon each of broccoli and carrots (both organic) every day, and he doesn't notice that small amount. My dachshund would have noticed, but my new rescue Lab doesn't. The book is a little complicated at first, but the instructions about doggie foods, which I've studied for nine years, are very clear and simple and easy to follow. These authors don't tell you that you MUST go out and buy $300 of raw meat because it's the ONLY thing you should feed your dog; they take what you're doing and build on that.

The book is very well written in a friendly tone, offering suggestions instead of commands. I've learned a lot about adding small amounts of fresh food to my dog's diet. I already had him on excellent dog foods when I got the book, but Rodney and Dr. Karen have so much more to tell me. I'm reading this book very slowly so I won't miss anything.

I've seen plenty of charlatans and fake "experts" on dog foods in my time. Rodney and Dr. Karen are the real deal, and I've followed them for quite a while. I trust them and am glad to take their advice. We all want our dogs to live as well and as long as possible, and I'll do whatever it takes.

My dog is a 90-pound Labrador who I adopted from a local shelter here in Arkansas. He'd been in Hurricane Ian and was among a group of dogs sent here to shelters. He'd been at the shelter a little over a month, and I didn't need any encouragement. I saw a picture of his face, and that was it. I'd had Labradors before and had forgotten how smart and willing to please they are. He's amazingly picky for such a large dog, but we're going to make this work.

The Forever Dog is a great book for anyone who owns a dog (or, like me, is owned by a dog) with real, easy to do methods to help extend his life. Who doesn't want that for all our dogs? I enjoyed reading this book, have it bookmarked all over the place, and will continue to use it daily to help my sweet boy live longer, and I'll use it for any dogs I have in the future.
