Fun City, just the way I remember it....

Fun City, just the way I remember it, skyscrapers and everything. The City back then was a tough, gritty place full of tough, gritty characters and this film perfectly captures it. Gene Hackman deservedly received the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Popeye Doyle as an out-of-control cop who will stop at nothing to get the bad guys. The cast of actors includes Roy Scheider, Fernando Rey, Tony Lo Bianco and Eddie Egan and Sonny Grosso (the real Popeye and Cloudy). This flick also has one of the two best car chase scenes ever (Bullett being the other). A great movie to watch with the guys.Read full review...

The French Connection

Great movie and Oscar winner. Was hard to find in video stores to rent or even buy. Most other resources didn't carry the Oscar winner either. I found it on Ebay and bid and won it. I have a collection of Oscar movies started and Ebay has helped me find some of the very rare and out of print ones.

This is a great movie and if you are a Gene Hackman fan as I am and have been for years, you will love this one. He won the Oscar for Best Actor and was well deserved. This is an early Gene Hackman but still a great one.Read full review...
