This Is A Great Stephen King Book Adaptation...

... to the Big Screen!

Tom Hanks is outstanding as Paul Edgecomb, who was a Louisiana security guard who was the 'Boss' of Cellblock 'E' which was the death row during the Great Depression in 1935.

Paul's life is changed forever when John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a giant of a black man who was convicted of raping and murdering two white girls is admitted to the cellblock.

John Coffey definitely does not fit into the mold of a psychopathic killer, which puzzles Paul. John is so kind, gentle, and even afraid of the dark!

The storyline takes a Stephen King twist or two in the telling.

This is a long move.... but it is so interesting we didn't get bored at all!

Michael Clarke Duncan, who went on to play the gigantic Kingpin in the Daredevil movie, is outstanding in this role. You would believe he truly has this power that he uses in the movie!

Tina won't watch most HoRRoR movies, and shys away from Stephen King movies,
but this one had such good press that she took a chance on it and was pleased!

This was my second time viewing the movie, and the DVD has a good bonus feature in the 'making of the movie'.

Also, Dabbs Greer who plays Paul Edgecomb in the present has a good role, and David Morse and Barry Pepper are good in their roles as Paul's fellow prison guards.

A great, inspirational film.

This is a movie set in a prison, on death row. Nevertheless, it's amazing where you can find the unexpected, unexplained goodness that was found there. There are some disturbing scenes, not recommended for young children. (It is held on death row.) I loved this movie!Read full review...

The Green Mile

This movie is great! My grandchildren enjoyed this movie. It was a little long but it kept their attention. It lets you on the inside of death row. I like Tom Hanks and he played his role well. It is a little sad, it makes you laugh and cry.Read full review...

The Green Mile DVD

This is a favorite movie in our family. We owned the vhs version but it seemed to have tracking problems.I wanted to be able to share this great piece of entertainment with my family for many more years so I decided to buy it on dvd.The price was great and I didn't have to deal with getting to the store and finding out it wasn't in stock. Ebay usually provides the largest selection at the best prices. As usual,I wasn't disappointed.Read full review...

Awesome Movie. Worth the $7.95 LOL

A great movie with a lot of twists. The best Steven King adaptation to the screen. It is a good story that will touch your heart. The casting is great.

It is about an innocent man on death row and what it would be like in the day to day activities and interaction of the guards and prisoners. Well worth adding to your collection.Read full review...
