House of the Dead 2&3 (Wii)

This game offers wireless arcade style gaming from the comfort your living room. I remember playing this game in a few arcades around town. The Wii version is the exact same as the arcade version minus the pocket full of quarters required to play it!!

Hardware:
You don't need a nunchuck for this one, so there's no wires to deal with. We use 2 wireless nyko perfect shot pistols wich are great for this game! The wii zapper also comes in handy, delivering a more comfertable grip during long games.

Graphics:
The graphics in House of the Dead 2, are less than what you would expect from a next generation console. But, the realistic arcade feeling more than makes up for it. The graphics in House of the Dead 3, are conciderably better.

Gameplay:
There are 2 different games here! Both offer unlockable material, bonus items and features like Boss attack. You can unlock infinate continues on either game to REALLY enjoy the titles. It can be irritating starting the games from scratch when your "quarters" run out! Overall gameplay I'd give a 9 out of 10 though, as the point and shoot feeling of the arcade is simply fantastic!!!

Overview:
Great game for Wii partys, or just solo zombie killing! Graphics aren't great but actual gameplay is top notch! The terrable voice acting in this one is hallarious, and every aspect of the game spells F U N. Run out and grab this one if you haven't already!!

ZOMBIE KILLIN' FUN!!!

What a great game. It brings back memories of playing in old arcade/Odyssey Fun Worlds. Some people say the graphics are poor even for the years that they came out, but I beg to differ. The graphics are pretty good I tink. The story is meh, but it's all about the gameplay. In House of the Dead 2, you can take multiple paths all leading to the final boss. It depends on what civilians you save. Plus there are a ton of items to pick up in "Original Mode" to change how much ammo you have or what you can where. In House of the Dead 3, the graphics are in my opinion not as good, but still not bad. Story is still meh, but action is still there. This game is much easier than the second game. There aren't as many extras either. Still a good game though. All in all, it's a great buy for House of the Dead fans and shooter fans!!!Read full review...

Good shoot-em-up!

I like the fact that U can calibrate the Wii remote separately, even if U have the Wii Zapper, or one of its thousand clones out there with a red dot sight on the trigger. Good that it has different modes of play, too, if you just want to blast away, or if you need something more challenging. Only downside is that my trigger finger(s) (when I play "gangsta style ;-) ) get tired from the constant pulling, as I don't think there's a full auto mode for the Zapper--must check that. But that just tells me to take more breaks!

Overall a GREAT game!

Great game!

Buy it, love it, play it, shoot it, fun fun fun! What the Wii should be played with. It has fantastic controls, the graphics are great, really a classic arcade shooter. I know the 'first' one looks bad but thats the old old arcade one and its a classic, love the voice acting, just absolute crap, but funny for that. The second one is much better graphic wise and gameplay wise, just a more polish game than the first one. So get it, its wonderful and I really do wish the Wii would have more games like this, not the crap Wii Music. :PRead full review...

Awesome use as a Halloween prop

While the games are a little dated These products were purchased for use in a Prop or display for our annual Halloween party weekend. We hooked up an old Wii console to our huge tube TV for a retro Arcade type feel and are anticipating that it will be one of the star attractions. The games are a rail type shooter with a cheesy dialogue and will fit perfectly in with our retro zombie theme.Read full review...

Fun game for what it is

The House of the Dead 2 & 3 is a fun shooter for the Wii. The graphics aren't great, but are probably pretty similar to the original arcade game. The real value of the game is as a very fast-paced shooter that will test the speed and accuracy of your trigger finger. It is also a lot of fun with 2 players, where you and a friend can shoot your way through hordes of zombies together.
The biggest downside is that the voice acting is horrendous (you'll get used to hearing would-be victims say "thanks for saving me" after you blow away zombies that were inches from devouring them, in the same tone they would use to thank you for holding a door for them at the grocery store. And there are a lot of cut scenes, but you can skip over them if you're not too interested in the story.
Overall, it is a fun game. If you're looking for a game that uses the Wii-mote as a gun, and like intense, high-paced shooters, but aren't too worried about great graphics or good dialogue, this is a good pick.

Great game, Overkill is better though

They are great games, specially HOTD 3... HOTD 2 seems outdated .... but number 3 is really good . Playing it with the Wii zapper is a lot of fun. And you get 2 games in one disk for a very reasonable price. Now .. if you are going to buy only one game this month/year/period.... buy House of The dead overkill ... it is a lot better sin it is a lot newer .

Great games anayway.

Greetings from Mexico City ... The heart of the world

Awsome Game!!

I love this game. When I was young I use to put alot coins in Arcade. Not anymore, now I get to enjoy at home. The game is fun and exciting. Graphic is soso.. I don't like grahic too much but it not as good graphic as my playstation 3 game. But it fun and wirless wii control use as gun is awsome. I like this more than Time Crisis 3 for $100. Classic game can't go wrong with it. Highly recommend if u want to shoot some walking zombies...Read full review...

Good rail shooter~

This game is very fun when playing with someone else and the game is challenging as well. This game has kept everything from the original versions and been put to the Wii for loads of fun. The graphics as well have been kept so everything looks like crap, but if you ignore that then you'll have fun playing. Only problem is that the game can get dull and boring over time because you are just doing the same thing over and over again. if you play the game alone it isn't as fun as if you played with someone else.

Overall its a good game and a good rail shooter. You will have loads of fun especially if you have someone to play with.

Awesome Light Gun Games

This is an incredibly entertaining light gun game. The Wii version is accessible and honestly the ideal way to play these games. The visuals, music, hilarious voice acting, co-op, and frantic gameplay that was originally made to swipe your quarters are all top notch. I don't really have anything negative to say about these ports other than maybe they could have some new extras to unlock, but this is a small gripe in an otherwise great package. This is 2 games in one, and a great bargain even in 2020 if you like these games and have a Wii with a Wii zapper gun or two. Read full review...
