Incredible Hulk 3-Disk DVD

If you can get it for the right price, this is the edition of the Incredible Hulk to have. The retail price doesn't really justify what you get, but if you can find a deal on ebay then it's worth it.
The main disk is identical to the standard copy, with feature film and a handful of deleted scenes. The special features disk has the much-talked-about alternate opening (yes it does show Captian America in the avalanche, but it's so fast and if you don't know where to look you will easily miss it). Also included are an extra 30 minutes of deleted scenes that are in addition to the ones on the main disk. The third disk is the digital copy of the movie.

As far as the movie itself is concerned, it's unusual to see another reboot of a franchise so soon (2003 was when the previous attempt was made)but it's better in so many ways. In particular the casting is more appropriate in the key roles of Banner and Betty, while the supporting cast holds it's own. The story and action move along quickly at a rapid pace. That said, there are many deleted scenes that make you wonder why they were removed. The movie is only 1 hr 45 minutes, but would have been better served to have some of those scenes put back in. They wouldn't take away from the pace and would help fill in the gaps for the audience. Even so, it's enjoyable and much more in line with the original concept and pays homage to the TV series as well.

HULK STRONGEST THERE IS!!!!! (The second time around at least...)

The Incredible Hulk was unfortunately released in the "Incredible shadow" of both Iron Man and the Dark Knight, two movies which elevated the level in which all future comic book movies would be held. That aside, this version of the Hulk opens with a super classy and washed out flashback to the first hulk film's transformation and action sequences making this not entirely a sequel but not a reboot either, a really good/smart move on Marvel's part in my opinion. It opens with Banner already having been mutated and being chased by General Ross and his hi tech anti-hulk brigade. Edward Norton's portrayal of Banner (in his human form) is honest, genuine, and soft spoken. Banner has a steadfast commitment to the arduous task of ridding himself of the Hulk, so much, that you end up really feeling sorry for him and actually feel good for him when he does lash out at his pursuers as his larger green alter ego. When the Hulk appears he just looks like raw muscle it doesn't suffer from the foamy squishy look of Ang Lee's Hulk,This one looks as though he's ready to tear S%&* up! The action sequences are CGI heavy and feature large object being tossed about as though they where child's playthings. There's a rather rambunctious Army dude by the name of Blonsky who has made it his mission to stop the Hulk...even if it means becoming a monster himself. This is where the movie separates itself from the previous Hulk film...There is another Hulk character in this film A creature his size and strength which ends with one of the greatest fist fights in a hero movie to date. Not that the previous movie didn't have plenty of action as does this one, but you'll find yourself more on the edge of your seat as The Hulk battles a foe on his level more than if he where just flipping around Army tanks. This movie blends many different styles it's first and foremost a drama, it tried to shy away from the humor found in most of marvel's movies. It does have a few light hearted scenes and the action is top notch it also has a little bit of a giant monster movie vibe in it as the Hulk and his new friend fight it out in Harlem while hapless heaps of bystanders run screaming. If you're looking to scratch that super hero or action flick itch..,Give Hulk a shot you may be surprised...besides you wouldn't wanna make him angry right? You wouldn't like him when he's angry.Read full review...

Monstrously Entertaining

For those that know only of the original comic book Hulk, the TV series Hulk, or the regrettable Ang Lee Hulk, you should know that this new version is a mixture of origins.

Without spoiling it, one of the larger ingredients in this new Hulk comes from a Marvel series that is an alternate universe. There are many differences in the Ultimates Universe. In this version, Banner did not get his gamma radiation from exposure during an experimental bomb explosion. I won't spoil it, but you can go to www.marvel.com and look under "Ultimates" if you wish to get the gist of it.

I can truly say that this version captures a little of everything, so that no matter what your knowledge is of the Hulk character, there's tie-ins to everything.

Personally, I felt this reboot was well thought out. It allows for any future connectivity by not limiting it to one version of the Hulk. This will allow future Marvel movie-makers the ability to pick and choose aspects from the multitude of alternate universes, re-tellings, and time spans to combine whatever they please.

This was well cast. When the overall product can make me forget the fact that I don't like a specific actor, and truly appreciate the total entertainment experience, it's something to smile about. I won't mention which one I don't care for, since all that will do is spark useless debate.

Story - intricate and intelligent, fast-paced, yet deeply explanatory, complex, yet easily taken in by non-geeks. Enough references to the true comic, alternate comic, and TV show, that everyone in the sneak peek seemed to be pleased. I surely was.

CGI was great. Don't know why some have to nit-pick, but you can't please everyone, I guess. Action was wonderful with plenty of it!

The Incredible Hulk (DVD, 2008, 3-Disc Special Edition)

It's an excellent movie with cool special effects. The story is better than the Ang Lee's Hulk. The second disc which contains bonus materials and behind the scenes are great too, though I have some disappointment with the 3rd disc that contain the movie for digital copy, since I bought it used from ebay, the serial number or whatsoever called has been expired and I can't use it.
Overall, it's a great movie with a great and reasonable price.

A Marvellous Live-Action Movie

Watch out, because when Bruce turns into that giant green creature called Hulk, no one can stop him.

This is just another MARVELLOUS (get it?) movie that, together with Ironman, could be the one of the greatest action movies of 2008 in every sense. Incredible scenes, very well produced. Basically, the story is about a guy (Bruce, played by Edward Norton) who have suffered a kind of genetic mutation due to a frustrated experience with gamma radiation and is striving to keep himself away from being angry, otherwise he can turn into a diabolic monster who crashes everything and everyone on his way, except his longtime lover (Betsy, played by Liv Tyler).

The end of the movie strongly suggests that there will be a sequel soon to be seen, possibly for the next year. Let's wait and see.
