Interesting Characters in Funny Situations in Vintage Rural Ireland
A humorous, period piece with nice exteriors, interiors, costumes and great characters: Peter Bowles is excellent as he is in other series he's done. A good inside look at how rural life was in Ireland around 1900. Lots of horses, horse dealings, vintage carriages, races, hunting to hounds.
I needed to run the English subtitles to help with some of the Irish accents. Glad I bought this series. I came to really enjoy many of the characters, so it is a series I will watch over and over.Read full review...

Subtle British humour
A fish out-of -water story with strong characters. I felt the third season suffered a little as one of the main characters left due to contractual obligations, but the series finale was marvelous! You will want to use the sub-titles for a lot of what the character Slipper says because the Irish accent and idioms become incomprhensible at times, but he was my favourite charcter nonetheless.Read full review...
