Emotional, moving, beautiful, realistic story

I found 'the Last Song' to be an emotionally charged, moving story that was very true to life. Having been through a similar situation to the children in the story, I found the movie to be captivating and realistic. Miley Cyrus's portrayal of the teenage daughter of a divorced couple, coping with the prospect of a new father, the death of her biological father and the changes that teenage life brings with it, was very, very realistic. I believe she had captured the true essence of the storyline. Being a teenager herself, perhaps she was able to draw upon recent life experiences in fulfilling the role.

I would like to applaud the directors of this film. They did not try to sugar coat the situation nor did they over dramatize the storyline. This is a situation that so many of our young people find themselves in today and to have this portrayed in such a way, brought out that while life can be extremely tough, we can all make choices that can bring a better outcome. I also believe that this film highlights the need for parents in similar situations, to become more tolerant, more understanding and more flexible in times such as these, but also to remain true to who they are and who their children have always perceived them to be.

The Last Song - definitely worth watching!

Liam Hemsworth & Miley Cyrus

Both make a great debut in acting for different things. Miley steps out of her typical Disney girl roles & Liam makes a fantastic debut into the US acting scene. Very touching movie, Nicholas Sparks writes beautiful romances. Recommend this if you want a good tear jerker!

The Last Song (Miley Sirus)

Perfect movie for both the teenager going through her rough "not understood" years who wants to hang out with the wrong crowd and for the parent who wants the best for her child. Typical teenager with the rolling of the eyes and missing cerfew one too many times will finally realize what is really important. Also for the never ending nagging parent who just needs to listen and understand a teenager and maybe go about it a little different. Movie was great, but i do recommend reading book first. Tooooo much detail left out in the movie.Read full review...

A well done film with good acting.

This film has some of my favorite interests. First of all, it takes place on the beautiful Georgia coast where a man is living in a waterfront cottage. Second of all he is a pianist/composer and lastly, he makes stained glass windows. His two children come to stay with him as he is dying and the ex-wife wanted them to get to know their father. The older child is also a musician and was accepted to the Julliard School of Music. She falls in love with one of the local boys who comes from a wealthy family. This is a bittersweet film but enjoyable.Read full review...
