Good book, easy to read

I found this book to be very easy to read and follow, which can be difficult when dealing with complex historical events. The author takes a very personal approach, presenting Nicholas II as a person by quoting from his diaries. The last part -- once the family was in captivity -- was a little hard to follow because there were so many names but keeping track of names was the only difficulty. The text is smooth and easy to read. The story is also fascinating. Even if you know nothing about Russian history, you can't help but be captivated by this story -- a story about a man who loved his family to the point of his downfall. It's a good place to start to learn about Russian history as well. And even if you're not into Russian history, it appeals as a love story.Read full review...
