Good'ol Nostalgia

Bought this set off a member of eBay recently. Have had it on my saved searches list for quite a while now. I got a pretty decent deal on it as opposed to some of the hax selling them for full retail. This is eBay, we expect better, right?

I have in the past bought some double sets of At the Circus, The Big Store, Go West & Room Service. Seems like the viewing quality of those films were a bit better than this set. The only real complaint I have on this set is that the movie Coacoanuts starts out in decent quality, then abruptly 1/4 of the way through gets fuzzy like you're watching in on an old TV set. It eventually gets back to the normal viewing quality you'd expect from an old movie such as these. I'd have expected a little better when purchasing a whole set of these movies. Reflects nothing at all on the sellers here or the good old school comedy of the movies.

Don't expect too much content from the 6th disk. It's just a few short segments showing appearances by Harpo, Groucho and Harpo's son on a talk show. They even cut Groucho off as he's going to tell a personal story about an experience with his brothers. Whole disk, very little content.

Far as the movies themselves, what can I say about one of the most widely known and esteemed comedy teams of the 20th century that you don't already know? They are that good that we still invest into watching their adventures of slapstick comedy over and over again, seemingly never getting tired of their distinctive way of making us laugh. Marx Brothers Classics Set

This is an excellent product. Six discs contain the five Paramount features, and a bonus disc. Very handsomely packaged, and great picture quality. An unbelievable buy for the small price I paid.

Comic genius at work (times 4)

They do not make them like this anymore. Mainly because they cannot and most do not want to. Pure enjoyment brought to you by four comic geniuses. Long may their movies continue to provide enjoyment to those who watch. Libs will hate much of what goes on but then, that is what they do. Kudos to Margaret Dumont for putting up with these wiseacres time after time. Groucho has a black mustache and Chico has an 'Italian' accent. Harpo likes girls and Zeppo had to be the straight man. Nice collection with stunning case

While these are not digitally remastered, they still are comedy's greats! I was amazed at the case layout for this collection. Very nice, never seen before fold outs of the DVDs and booklet in the middle.
