We meet Thomas (who later remembers his name) a "Greeny" to the pack of boys trapped in the center of the Maze. This film serves as a twisted version "Lord of the Flies" with out the Piggies. The political structure is challenged by the new "Greeny" Thomas, who begin to challenge their infrastructure. In time proves himself to
these lost boys.

Great movie of the mysterious Maze and Thomas, the Maze Runner.

As a fan of dystopia, this is one of the best movies made on the topic. Based on the best selling book of the same name by James Dashner, we get Thomas, played to perfection by Dylan O'Brien, as the newest boy added to the Glade, a mysterious place for boys with their memories wiped. Outside the Glade is the dreaded Maze, and the Runners are the only ones allowed into the Maze to map it. Somehow, Thomas knows he has to become a Runner, but as the newest member to the Glade, it does not seem very likely. He is told that nobody survives the Maze at night, that there are creatures in it which will kill. His friends become Newt, one of the leaders of the Glade, and Minho, the head Runner. On the third day when Minho does not make it out of the Maze before night, Thomas enters the Maze, and the two boys, along with Alby, the leader of the Gladers, end up in the Maze overnight. They encounter the dreaded Maze creatures. Nobody in the Glade expects them to survive, but not only do they come out alive, Thomas has managed to kill one of the creatures. It results in Thomas becoming a Runner, and together with Minho, he manages to solve the riddle of the Maze. There is a girl added to this story line, which works well in the books, but she is not really important to the plot in the movie. She and Thomas have a connection in the books which should have been better explored in the movie to make her presence necessary. Like The Hunger Games and Divergent, this is the first movie in The Maze Runner series with the next installment due in late 2015. Very good movie for all ages.Read full review...

An OK movie. Good action sometimes and the plot twists are easy to follow. This is movie 1 with number 2 (maze runner the scorch trials) already out. the 3rd one comes out next year sometime to wrap up the series. Good movies to fill an evening if you don't have much else to do.Read full review...
