The Message Bible

I wanted a Bible that had a translation that was close to how the King James version reads but would have terminology that was easier to understand for a young person or a new Christian. This Bible is wonderful! It has the NKJV with commentary (which I love!) and the very contemporary Message version. The whole concept is beautiful. I have to say, once in a while the Message version is a little TOO contemporary for me, but hey! I'm old! The one thing I wish I had in this Bible is giant print. Because the book is so packed with fantastic scripture and commentary the print seems pretty small. All in all I would certainly buy it again or buy it for a friend.Read full review...

Appreciate the Print

Now I'm at the age where larger print makes it easier to read and study longer with less eye and brain fatigue. The cover of the book is obviously not leather but much nicer than a cardboard cover and appears classy as well. Wish it had a concordance, but was aware it wouldn't be there, so it's a trade off worth the feature not there for the large print. Overall, I'm very happy with this.Read full review...

Great Bible

Received my new large print Message Bible today. It was wonderful and easy to read. My husband came home and looked it over and really like it. We like the Bible so well that I'm ordering him one for Christmas. The large print is perfect for those of us that our arms are no longer long enough. The Message by Eugene Peterson (2007 large print)

I do not use it as my study bible but I love the fresh or new perspective it brings to scripture. Quite a few times it gives me insight I didn't have before.
