The Monster That Challenged the World
This DVD was in very good condition and just like new. I am glad I made the purchase. The reason I purchased the movie was not so much that it was a good movie, although it is entertaining, but because it depicts the Salton Sea in California during part of it's heyday in the 1950s. Not many people who see the Salton Sea today are able to visualize what it used to look like. I hope people will take the time and interest to Save the Salton Sea!Read full review...

" The Monster That Challenged The World"
Classic 1950's Sci-Fi!
Giant mollusks start causing trouble at and near the Saltan Sea, in SW California. But have no fear...Tim Holt, the cowboy star, is on hand, to handle this problem. And when he can tear himself away from making goo-goo eyes at Audrey Dalton, he'll get the job done. The monsters end up far from challenging the world, but they did, for a while, challenge El Centro, California. Too bad they didn't eat that oasis-like metropolis. That would have done California a favor!
RATED an "8" on a scale of 1 to 12 billion. And in living black & white, no less! Don't miss it!
(PS: Audrey does look pretty good.)

Spiffy little monster flick for 50's fans.
I love this movie!!!!I first saw it when I was a child in the 50's and always remembered it. The idea of being "sucked to death under water" was unique to my experience. The story is interesting, the monster is still cool by 50's standards, and at 60 I am still in love with it. I have had it on VHS all these years and watch it frequently. Now I have it on DVD and I am just thrilled. Great old time movie watch for 50's scifi and monster fans. I also recommend Forbidden Planet (one of the best and most intelligent of the 50's sci fi flicks, Beast from 20,000 fathoms (great 50's monster flick), and The Crawling EYE.Read full review...
