This book is FILLED with sooooo much valuable, helpful information!!! Not to mention Griff, your introduction to ebay was similar to my situation, so reading your personal story and the experiences of other ebay users in your book, adds a nice, warm touch indeed! Like the community on ebay I've met so far!
For me being NEW to ebay, I've been trying to get a better understanding of what ebay's about without making too many mistakes! Up until now, I've been joining groups & trying to read the discussion boards which can be a little overwhelming to someone who's new to this ebay internet world...but I'm having fun learning!
I'm finding that reading this book is a nice step away from my computer without stepping away from ebay...if that makes any sense!
As a NEW buyer & as a NEW seller on ebay, What else do I have to say about this book...
GREAT WRITING!!!
I find this book to be an easy read...and when I say easy, I mean the book is fatter than "Gone With The Wind", and when I saw it, I must admit, I was a little intimidated by the appearance...only 744 pages...but like the saying says "Never judge a book by it's cover!"
This book is not intimidating at all. On the contrary, It's a breath of fresh air, having the answers right in front of me to many of my questions and being able to have a reference, in hand, to turn to right away is reassuring.
I'm actually getting through the book rather quickly which is not surprising...I can't seem to put this book down!
I especially LOVE "Griffs Tips" & the personal stories that's shared throughout the book. When I decided to start selling on ebay, I was at a BIG turning point in my life. I had all these skills that I wanted to utilize from years of experience working in customer service and being an artist. I'm another one of those stories Griff that you can add to your next book, ebay has changed my life too!

The title "The Official ebay Bible" says it all.
I purchased this book because the reviews that I read were very favorable. Since Griffith is one of the original eBay staff, I felt that I would be able to get a lot of firsthand knowledge from this book. My desire to become a seller made me want to get the best information available on the subject.
The Official ebay Bible by Jim Griffith is an excellent resource for the would-be eBay seller as well as the eBay buyer. Griffith covers his subject thoroughly with information that he has obviously gleaned from his years of experience as an eBay employee.
This book is a bit long, however the index allows you to easily pick and choose different aspects of the eBay experience for in-depth resource exploration.

Well written, but some info was outdated.
The book is well written and full of valuable information, but when I tried to follow the directions for listing my first item, the sequence in the book is not what was at the ebay site. Ebay has simplified the process and I just followed the on line instructions. The book is still full of information for new sellers. For example, there are lots of tips on how to take a good picture of your item.Read full review...
This book has become my eBay Bible and daily exerciser.
My wife is a hoarder. Two of the rooms in our home have been turned into storage rooms. She is now living 2,000 miles away and is talking of staying there. She has told me if I can get money for her hoard I have her permission.What other place to sell but eBay?
I needed information on eBay and decided to turn to Jim Griffith's "The Official eBay Bible" 3rd edition. I have not been disappointed. His book is a treasure trove of information on selling on eBay.
My biggest fear has been how to photograph my treasures. His section on photography has eased my fears and given me detailed information on this important skill. His book is also great for desk exercises. It is so heavy I have developed muscles just lifting it daily.
I have found nothing about this book I dislike and would recommend it to anyone who wants to sell on eBay. I never knew there were so many ways of selling. I would certainly buy this book again.Read full review...
How Uncle Griff helped turn a negative into a positive
I let my frustration with the “one sided” DRS rating system consume my thinking, I closed my eBay Store May 1. I even sent an email to Uncle Griff.
I was shocked to receive a reply and over a few weeks many more email exchanges. The Guru of eBay was actually communicating with me on a one to one exchange. Among a number of suggestions was the purchase the HUGE eBay Bible. I was able to find a Third Edition and over 2 days read it from cover to cover. Much of the information was already known but there were suggestions that made the purchase well worthwhile.
I’m now reconstructing my eBay Store (wjandystools) and after I master the technique of file exchange I’ll have somewhere between 2000 to 3000 items in the store and then plans for the eBay Pro Stores with over 17,000 items in it.
For anyone thinking of buying or selling on eBay this resource is by far the best there is.

Must read
Being a novice to ebay, I needed some kind of guide to help me out. Using ebay's help menu is worth while, but sometimes there are questions you don't know how to ask. That is were this book comes in. My listings are clearer than they used to be and I am a smarter buyer than I was before. Also a lot of helpfull tricks to buying and selling make this book a must read.Read full review...
Jump-starting me out of procrastination.
I'm excited about starting to sell on ebay and just thumbing through this book has inspired me to start "getting serious" after a long period of procrastination. I enjoy the humor, which seemed unforced unlike that found in many such books. The book is very well organized and seems to cover just about everything.Read full review...

I liked the way the author takes the reader step by step through the eBay process.He provided many details and was very clear in his describtions.

Outdated...old. very very basic . Can't follow anything anyway since eBay has changed interface many times since this was written. Wish someone wrote this before I wasted my $. Get something current. Check publishing date. 2012 only. Dummies books are more current and helpful.Read full review...

I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS BOOK BY A FELLOW E-BAYER . I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH HIM WHEN HE SAYS THAT EVERY NEW E-BAYER SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. IT IS VERY SIMPLE TO READ AND HELPFUL. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT THE LISTING, UPKEEP AND EBAY PROCESS IN GENERAL. I LEARNED ABOUT THINGS THAT I NEVER KNEW ABOUT BEFORE . TAX LIABILITIES AND FEES, BOOKKEEPING AND ORGANIZATION IDEAS.
IT WAS A GOOD READ AND SHOULD BE A REQUIREMENT FOR ANY EBAYER.
