Another year-another musical One Tree Hill cashcow

I remember the first One Tree Hill soundtrack, how it was the cd for me at the right time. That cd may have been the soundtrack to my senior year. This third installment in the One Tree Hill series is good, but while the first two stood apart in quality and melodrama against the try-hard quirkiness of the OC soundtracks, this one seems eager to replicate it.

The cd features various 'indie' sounding acoustic songs from bands you may not have heard of, or likely will again. A soundtrack is about discovering new sounds, new bands, but I do not want a recycled OC effort. The offerings from Tyler Hilton and The Wreckers are obvious stand-outs, but feel like they were re-recorded on a cheap cell phone; manufactured to drop down to the same level as Band Of Horses. I only speak for myself, but as a youth of today I do not listen to cassettes-I expect cd quality when I buy a cd.

The cd seems to have gone through a couple of changes before release. Jack's Mannequin does not appear as advertised, replaced with a watered down cover by the predictably eccentric Gym Class Heroes.

The cd seems to be a self-indulgent exercise by the shows producer. While I haven't seen the episode this cd is attached to, I have trouble picturing 'moments' that would make each track special in the eyes of viewers.

If you find yourself taking a road trip do yourself a favour and make your own memories, with your own songs, rather than ones picked from someone elses youth a generation ago.

A fifth series of this show has been confirmed, with a dramatic time shift four years into the future. I look forward to spending time with the resident's of One Tree Hill as they begin to lead adult lives that I hope are more relevant to my own.

Good, but not as good as vol. 2

This volume of One Tree Hill is not quite as good as the previous one. If you're a fan of the show and watch it religiously like me, you'll like the CD anyways. It offers a good mix of different genres, but definitly has a lot more rock and alternative songs than the last CD.Read full review...

One tree hill soundtrack

Crazy awesome! Every song is great! I had to have all of the songs from the series because my daugther and I are die hard fans and we finally found it! I will now look for songs by Haley James Scott, or Bethany Joy. These songs on this sound track rock for anyone interested to know. They came right from the show!Read full review...

Reminiscing while riding on the open road... GREAT product!

With the series of One Tree Hill coming to it's final finale... I absolutely enjoy listening to The Road Mix which reflects on the shows past and highlights many of the songs from past episodes. It is a variety of genres and has great songs!Read full review...

The Road Mix: Music From The Television (CD)

Well not all the song I like, but being a One Tree Hill fan and really wanted it! I had to wait until the price because I am a pour college student. I think it is important to have an it because it was the fourth season cd.
I wish that they had more Haley song out on cd! But I think all fans do!

Excellent

There is only one song on this soundtrack that I don't like, but other than that it is a great compilation and all One Tree Hill fans should own it.
