THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AMAZING! ...BUT DULL ARTWORK AND LAZILY BAD WRITING STRIKES AGAIN!

Sadly, simply dull artwork and a really bad choice in plot direction doesn't help this series! However, I really liked the 1776 version of the Shield! LOVED her cloak and hat designs! Truth be told, I ONLY wanted to see this version of the character! Unfortunately, this very cool character is defeated, wounded and pinned down to the ground for a circular demonic sacrifice? (Double Triple Groan.) Which is a real shame, because the current version of the Shield, that's on the cover of this book, is nowhere as cool or nowhere as interesting as her 1776 counterpart. Instead, this would've worked a thousand times better if the 1776 version of The Shield, while trying to stop a horrific British army plan to win the war, that she would've somehow been transported to our current timeframe with no way back to her own time. Just saying is all....Read full review...
