A good nostalgia pick. This has the entrance of Smurfette. Also all the different smurfs I remember as a kid. Brainy always acting like he knows better and getting thrown on his head.

I have enjoyed watching this show since I was little! Great dvd box set. Wish they would have kept the box sets after season 2 volume 1 instead of switching to plastic cades. So happy to have this and the other dvds that have been released. Disappointed that the entire series hasn't been released for region 1 US/Canada.Read full review...

I don't recall seeing this when I was younger but...

I cannot believe all the words used in this adorable Smurf land! I don't remember Smurfette being a... um... flirt(to be kind). I, for one, as a parent do not like my children using the word HATE. Grumpy Smurf uses it ALL the time. Gargamel (spelling?) is a jerk! LOL It brings back a lot of really cute memories of Saturday mornings when I would snuggle up and watch this cartoon, however, I'm not 100% sure I like the kids watching it. I suppose it falls along the line of Buggs Bunny and Tom & Jerry where they always go after each other and someone always gets hurt. I'll allow them to watch it but I will not allow them to watch it a lot. Cute, but needs some parental explanations. Had I remembered what it really consisted of they would not have had the opportunity to watch it.Read full review...

Smurfs are the best for all ages!!

I love the Smurfs!!! I grew up watching these cartoons when I was little. I bought this to show my children what I watched when I was growing up. My 11 year old and 5 year old love it. My 10 month old baby even sat still and watched some of it as he played. I love this cartoon because there is no violence in it. These days there are so much violence in cartoons and adult humor. The Smurfs has no adult humor and violence!! I think all cartoons these days should be how they were when I was growing up. I think this is a Cartoon set everyone with children should own. Smurf DVD

I have loved the Smurfs since I was a kid and would wake up to watch them on saturday mornings. This DVD, is great, it has some good stories in it. I would love for them to come out with the rest of the series and more interesting stories such as when some of the older smurfs got turned into kids and the introduction of Sassy smurf, the other female smurf as well as baby smurf. i think this is a great set of the classic cartoon. it come in a very nice embossed package and the disc's are colorful and easy to navagate and it also has 2 shorts included along with the 19 episodes. i would recomend this set. and look forward to the next set to be released..Read full review...

Smurf Dvd- Season 1 2008

I am so pleased with this DVD. I grew up watching the Smurfs on Saturday mornings. This DVD brings back so many memories of good times as a child. This video is perfect for my 5 year old. It is not violent like most of the shows on tv today. It is fun to watch together and I don't have to worry about violence or her seeing something she shouldn't. Just clean fun.

I heard they were going to release a movie in theaters in November. This video will allow my daughter to get to know the Smurfs in time for the movie.

Highly reccomend for all 80s babies

I loved this show growing up and while I don't enjoy it as much now, it is still a nice item to own and relived those childhood days. My kids watch it more than I do now, but the 1st season is much better than all teh later ones where teh little cousins and granpa all come in with teh extra characters. I never could stand those. It was also very nice to see how Smurfett came about. I alwasy though she was just there like teh rest of them, I had no idea that Garomel created her as evail and then she changed to nice.Read full review...
