No heros here

Interesting realistic movie which was the last acting job for two of the actors in the movie, Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe. Not necessarily a happy ending..

The Misfits

Loved the flick but now I understand why Clark found Monroe so difficult to work with. Total shame this was Clark's last film, he died shortly afterwards.

The Misfits

For one thing, this movie has an awesome cast! The storyline centers around a newly-divorced, emotionally-vulnerable woman played by Marilyn Monroe who encounters a couple of drifting cowboys while living in Nevada. She finds love with Gay Langland (portrayed by Clark Gable) and wins much admiration from Gay's friends Guido (Eli Wallach) and Pierce (Montgomery Clift). Although this film has a sad undertone (it was both Gable's and Monroe's last completed film), IMO it is a classic masterpiece written by Monroe's husband Arthur Miller - presumably as a gift to his wife. There were many problems in the making of the film, and Monroe's marriage crumbled shortly thereafter. Sadly, Clark Gable died two weeks after filming wrapped. He performed many of the physically-challenging stunts himself! I highly recommend this film to any classic movie fan.Read full review...
