One of Blur's early Gems !

It is a fact that the first album of Blur is quite different from the following "Life trilogy" and definitely from the following LPs.

With various "psychedelic" elements and very much influenced by the music atmosphere of the early 90's(Stone Roses, Happy Mondays etc.), this album made a difference with its simplicity and "oneiric" sounds, but was not very much appreciated, not then, not even now, according to its true value.

One magnificent representative song from the "Leisure" album, is the secondly(if I remember right) released single: "There's no other way".

Can't really be inside Damon's head to know what did he mean by this song(was is a pathetic philosophie about life?), all I know is that it can't be revised without understanding the surrounding "clima" of the world then and definitely the LP's title "Leisure" best describes it. Inside the album "There's no other way" fits with all the other songs, creating a very relaxing and pleasant(to say the least) mood for the listener.

According to the very same single, it is highly proposed for the nostalgic collectors of that area, a "return to innocense" theme. Although, later Blur wrote more sophisticated and complex songs, "There's no other way" is the reviewer's favourite Blur song that waits patiently forgotten in a dusty music self to become YOUR favourite with its crazy rythme !
