Best Tivo I have Owned
This is my 3rd or 4th TiVo and is the 2nd High-Definition TiVo that I have owned, the first HD unit being a Series 3 TiVo. The picture quality on this unit is excellent, the fact that it has 6 tuners is the best thing about it to me. I use a TiVo Mini to watch television in another room, that takes up one of the 6 tuners, but I still have 5 left for use in simultaneous TV show recording. With my old 4-tuner Series 3 TiVo there were times when I would get up in the morning and all the tuners were busy recording shows so I couldn't watch the morning news because there was no available tuner for the TiVO Mini. That never happens with this unit.
Hookup was easy. Once I installed the cable card, Comcast was able to activate it over the phone without a technician coming out. Every now and then it loses the signal between the TiVo and the TiVo Mini, and I have to re-boot both units to get them working again. Happens maybe every couple months or so. That is the only frustrating thing about it, everything else works well. I can stream shows to my Android phone from this unit when I am out of town or at work, this TiVo has built-in streaming so I didn't need my separate TiVo Stream box anymore (sold it on eBay along with the Series 3 TiVo.)
It has a huge hard drive and even after owning it for a few months and recording several episodes of dozens of different TV shows, the drive is maybe 40% full and it kind of hangs around that range because I have it keep the most recent 10 or 25 episodes of TV shows instead of keeping everything. I was able to keep my old TiVo hooked up to my network at the same time this new TiVo was hooked up, and used the TiVo web site to transfer shows from my old TiVo to the new unit, so I didn't lose my saved shows. TiVo customer service was great at helping explain how to do that.
I can use the TiVo phone app to schedule shows and the online TiVo site to manage the TiVo, and I can watch TV shows from this unit on my phone or tablet anywhere when I am traveling, as long as I have a good (fast) internet connection in the hotel.
Customer Service at TiVo has been great to work with and has always responded quickly to e-mails I have sent in, and been friendly on the phone.

Love my roamio pro
I love it!!! And it has out of home streaming. Whereas at the moment the new bolt does not!!! So I sent that back. I also can hook up my slingbox to the roamio as well :) and it has 3GB of memory.

Sent this back, not what I wanted
I ended up sending this back and buying the 1TB Bolt

Cable goes out...you can instal a A/B 75ohm switch between your cable and antenna and be able to still record off OTA, also eventually we are weeding out our cable for the most part, once we do we will still be able to see our fav shows via Internet, and OTA
Have been up for almost a week, and love the tivo!!!! Highly recomended for someone that wants to cut the cord on their over priced rental of a DVR unit as well as their fees on services and the program guide they charge you for each month.
Pay the one time lifetime fee and be gone cable box rental!!!!!!
Cable companies are sucking people dry on their services!

I do love the 6 tuner's. The new version with Hydra is pretty much junk. After I went back to the older version, (that's kind of a pain), it's more like the Tivo Series 4. It work's great. The guide is much better than series 4. Your show's are in folders, easier to find after Hydra is gone. It actually does more than the Series 4. Nice Upgrade from Earlier Models
Fast play, commercial skip, larger hard drive and built-in Tivo Stream. The only thing missing is 4K recording/playback. I tried the Bolt first but couldn't get used to the shape or color. Cable TV only
The TiVo Roamio Pro is great if you use cable TV, exclusively. That works for most people. If you use an antenna, you’re out of luck with this TiVo. When it comes to a DVR, though, TiVo is still the best choice. This unit sports six tuners and it can skip over ads for many popular TV shows that are broadcast nationally.
