Tar rocks! Great album from great little-known band.

Tar is sometimes called Noise Rock. I got into them after hearing them on a split 7" with Jawbox. I picked up the "Clincher" EP and loved it. I also have their "Over & Out" album but I like this one better. It's hard for me to describe their sound but I like their solid, simple bass & drum grooves, powerful but not heavy guitar riffs, and minimal, sometimes atonal vocals. The whole thing combines into a chunky, grooving sound that seems minimal but is always interesting and just rocks.Read full review...
