A CD to play over and over.

In 2009 Bob Dylan released a new CD called "Together Through Life" which seemed to reflect some of his heritage in folk music-based story telling. He has slowed down his style, mirroring his previous and EXCELLENT release "Modern Times" in 2006. While Modern Times stylistically, lyrically and musically has become unmatched for me to Bob's other latest releases, Together Through Life still ranks above average..This is a GREAT CD with traditional Bob poetic sense, talking about loves and lost loves and all the mean time still dropping in his bobevangelical approach to life. Together Through Life

I heard a cut from this CD on XPN (UofP radio station 88.5 in Philly) when they were doing the top ten CD's of the year. Because I just lost the most important person in my life, I was just blown away by the poetry and soulfulness of the selection they played, "This Dream of You". I loved Dylan's "old man voice" and loved the use of the accordian which produced a very likable cajun sound. After purchasing the CD, I found I liked the whole thing. What do I love about Together Through Life? Its Dylan!! What do I dislike-Not a thing. Its Dylan! Why did I buy it? Its Dylan!!! Do you really think Dylan cares what anyone thinks! He is doing what he has done since 1960. He surprises us every time. You never know what to expect. You never know what you are going to get. I played the cd and just laughed out loud. Can not go wrong with Bob Dylan can you? Another strong effort by the talented enigma from Minnesota. The muscianship is excellent as you would expect. I now Bob's vocal can be an aquired taste for some, but I say aquire that taste and you will love it. I Bob can continue these things for a long time to come.Read full review...

Dylan Rises Again

What is not to love? An album of new songs from Bob Dylan. The lyrics are as cryptic, and biting as usual but with some of the old humor thrown in. The music is a new incarnation. The album could use a couple more songs, but 10 is better than nothing.Read full review...

if you like the last three dylan cd's, you'll love this. sounds better each time you listen, can't wait for the next offering.

dont spend a lot for this one

difficult to listen to as a long time fan. everything is there except the familiar. arrangements are similar to what started with modern times but it may be time to call it a day
