As simple or complex as you want it to be

As near as I can tell, this model came out in 2009, and GPS was a fairly mature technology by that point, This means that you can operate on voice instructions alone (my preference -- I want my eyes on the road) or do the dash-mount and get a look at the cross streets between here and the next turn. You can set a target time and be aware of whether you're ahead of or behind schedule. It's even possible (with an add-on antenna) (and maybe a subscription) to add in an awareness of current traffic conditions in your path.

Just be aware that the screen is less-responsive than a modern cellphone, and some of the other advanced features (such as importing a multi-stop itinerary from your computer) require registration with TomTom, and I was too late for that. But it certainly takes some of the stress off the executive functions of driving in unfamiliar parts of town, and that is worth a lot for me.Read full review...

Amazing Product at a Great Price!

This model of TomTom has been there for me through think and thin getting me to Florida from Ohio and back and tons of other trips from around town to one or two tank trips. I own 4 of them, all the same 125 SE model (1 got stolen which was my stupidity for leaving it in an unlocked car, one for my wife and I, and one for my mom.) It's simple enough for my mom but customizable enough to satisfy me. I even took one backpacking with me and plotted points of interest on our hiking trip. The maps are precise and direct. The tomtom one is on of the best models in my opinion. It speaks street names and even lets you know when safety and red light cameras are in your vicinity!
