Decent unit provides for compass directions, time as well as maps

This is a nice unit for a motorcycle. Now remember I am getting old so my vision isn't as good as a younger person so when I say that reading the time or the cross-roads is hard that is because of me not the unit. I can see the compass fine and it is easy to use. My only other minor complaint it that while the actual mount is strong and doesn't vibrate, the unit itself when installed in the mount does vibrate and will loose power if you only use power from the motorcycle. It doesn't actually go dead, but the display will flash to a blue "lost power shutting down in 7 seconds" screen. Usually it will reestablish power and be find.
You can get around this by just running the GPS unit's backup battery as well as power from the motorcycle.
Overall nice item.

TomTom Rider 2nd Edition

It's a good unit the only thing is there could be a speaker as well. Also the ability to plan and map a specific route is not good. It seems as though you have to accept the units alternative routes and not be able to make your own. I may just do not know how to do that yet however.

Good buy, but

It finds locations fast, good route guidance, but if you preplanned a route and miss a turn it is very slow to reroute you or it gets to 20 % of rerouting and freeze. You have to start the program over again from the new starting point.

It will take some getting used to I think this is a good product for a motorcycle. Read full review...

The TomTom is everything the supplier said it to be. Have used several times now just local. But did the twisted roads feature. This is great took me back on roads I had forgotten were even there any more! Like the paved roads only feature! Pleased with the TomTom

Needed to replace a Zumo 550 that had failed. After looking at prices and options made the decision to buy the TomTom. Overall it has most of the features that I needed but with the price difference between it and a new Garmin made the decision to buy the TomTom. Screen quality is good and unit easy to operate. Good overall.

Works pretty good. Miss the traffic function like my car unit has. I realize you shouldn't be adjusting the GPS while riding, but a fastest route on start up would allow the unit to reroute without rider having to agree to change. If you keep original route, the unit would resert anyway. Volume control should be displayed while riding also so it could be adjusted when needed.Read full review...
